A Catholic private school in Massachusetts has been excommunicated by a local bishop after ignoring orders to remove pride and BLM flags.
The Nativity School of Worcester has been sanctioned by Robert J. McManus, the Bishop of the Diocese of Worcester, for their refusal to take them down.
He says the facility - the only tuition-free private school in the region - cannot continue to call itself Catholic while flying in the face of key church teachings.
The school, run by Principal Emily Kent is the only tuition-free private middle school in the region and serves about 60 students.

Stand up for the faith now, or there will be no faith left later.

I don't think a school or other organization can be excommunicated. Excommunication is reserved for individuals who are guaranteed to be burned in hell. (At least that is what the Good Sisters of Saint Joseph taught me.)
As for the homosexual alum named Creamer, I'll let that one pass.

Does Notre Dame University still call itself Catholic?
Does Baylor University still call itself Baptist?
Why?

First of all, the Catholic church has RULES it's not perfect but it stands for SOMETHING this decision is absolutely correct and MUST be enforced if you don't like it then go elsewhere.

So, who exactly is funding this school? I would think that the School will need to do what the Bishop demands, or it will lose any funding they get from the Church. If the School is Tuition Free, they have to find new funding in order to go against the decree of the Bishop.

This school excommunicated itself. The Bishop just made it official.

In reality, principal Kent is promoting the worship of false gods, for which she must answer to a much higher authority than the Catholic Church.

Such is the state of modern “journalism” that its moron practitioners can’t even get terminology right. Excommunication is a personal penalty. The bishop sanctioned the school and forbad it to use the name Catholic. He hurt their little feelings.

Everybody knows that Massachusetts is better and smarter than the rest of the country and all world leaders. They recognize that BLM and Pride are so good for the rest of us but we just don't understand it.

Here is the simple rule of the Catholic Church, BLM and Gay pride banners cannot exist in the same house of the Eucharist. Take it to the streets but not in the Catholic Church. I applaud the bishop.

The school leaders will just have to hook up with another religion. I’m sure there are some out there.

With only sixty students, that school is just going to shrivel up and blow away.

Sorry, you can't call it a Catholic school if it goes against everything the Catholic Church stands for.

When a region has been essentially excommunicatd, i believe it is called being put under 'Interdiction'. In this state, all in authority are treated as excommunicated, and cannot recieve any aid from the larger church (including financial aid). In medievil times it meant anyone who was a member of an affected State, could not recieve communion, holy unction, last rites, or celebrate marriages.

You can't excommunicate a building. On the other hand, you can excommunicate a principal.

Excommunication is a tool of discipline! Good for this leader! The sinners must repent and return to church orthodoxy! I’m a Lutheran, by the way!
