Undisclosed royalty payments estimated at $350 million from pharmaceutical and other firms to Dr. Anthony Fauci and hundreds of National Institutes for Health (NIH) scientists do present “an appearance of a conflict of interest,” according to the agency’s acting director.
Dr. Lawrence Tabak, who took over as NIH Director following the December 2021 resignation of the agency’s long-time leader, Dr. Francis Collins, told a House Appropriations Committee subcommittee that federal law allows the royalty payments but he conceded they don’t look ethical.
Rep. John Moolenaar (R-Mich.) told Tabak that “right now, I think the NIH has a credibility problem and this only feeds into this, and I’m only just learning about this.

Why would government bureaucrats like Fauci be receiving royalties on medications? Did Fauci help to invent the medication? If it was done as a part of his work at the NIH shouldn't the research/work product belong to the NIH and the royalties go to the NIH? How much did Fauci make of the Pfizer, J&J, and other Covid non vaccinating vaccines that he pushed and pushed while ignoring all other possible types of treatments or types of already existing medications? Makes me wonder if it was because he had a financial interest in it. Fauci is just like every other Washington DC politician. They cry about the low government pay for years but come out after their years of government service multi millionaires.

Definite conflict of interest. They need to be fired and prosecuted.

The corruption continues to puke out. I don’t care how or why he got them he is corrupt. There is no conceivable set of circumstances in which he should be dragging money out of the healthcare system while he plays with our lives and revels in his fowchee prayer candles.
And biden should not be commander in chief waging war on behalf of Ukraine with the byedung family having looted money from Ukraine.

Taxpayers fund all manners of research yet virtually never directly benefit financially from results. The problem is way beyond just drug development. Our academic centers are a hotbed of suspicious ethics.

Most of the time government agencies start with good intentions but eventually become parasitic rackets to grow at the expense of the taxpayers. We need a sundown law that specifies that agencies have to be reapproved every 20 years by 2/3 of congress or they die. We can start with the FBI, NIH, and CDC.

It just never ends, and it is demoralising and ultimately destructive of any nation: the collapse of the rule of law. If you are a rich, powerful Leftist, there is nothing, no crime, that you cannot skate away from. Hillary is at the top of that list, but it is a long, long list.

Here is a textbook example of "mealy mouthed."
"Rep. John Moolenaar (R-Mich.) told Tabak that “right now, I think the NIH has a credibility problem and this only feeds into this, and I’m only just learning about this. People in my district say ‘well, so-and-so has a financial interest, or they don’t like Ivermectin because they aren’t benefitting from that royalty …
“You may have very sound scientific reasons for recommending a medicine or not, but the idea that people get a financial benefit from certain research that’s been done and grants that were awarded, that is to me the height of the appearance of a conflict of interest.”
You wonder why evil runs rampant in the world?

It is high time that Fauci gets into an orange jumpsuit and remains in a place that we taxpayers pay for: Prison for the remainder of his life! Repay all is ill begotten gains!

In privat companies, with low ranking, non-supervisory jobs, not in regulatory agencies, I can see royalties being OK, as long as well known. But never in regulatory agencies, never being paid by those that they pretend to regulate.
Example: We had a cleaning technician who was a really smart guy and he was responsible for extreme cleaning on weapons components during manufacture. Lots of strange and unusual ways to clean things became his specialty. One method that was very unusual was to use liquid carbon dioxide as a solvent. It turns out that oils and other things like solder flux residue are easily dissolved and washed away with liquid CO2. This has to be in a pressurized container so the CO2 says liquid. Great for weapons parts and electronics, cleans, doesn't damage.
He patented a process for using liquid CO2 to clean all the oil residue off of used plastic oil bottles (post consumer-use for oil changes). The process took in the oil bottles, shredded them, then fed the chips into the pressure chamber where they were washed and tumbled in liquid CO2. Then the chips were separated from the liquid. The liquid was put into a clean tank, and the CO2 evaporated to gaseous form by lowering the pressure, no heating, (recycled back to liquid and re-used) which left perfectly clean oil, needing only filtering for particulates to be put back into the oil production stream making new automotive lube oils. The plastic chips were now very clean, and being pre-cleaned, they commanded a premium price on the recycled plastic market.
A company took out a license, and built a semi-truck sized mobile oil and plastic recycling system which was going from location to location, picking up collected oil bottles and recovering the oil and clean plastic.
He made a moderate income from the royalties. He had zero regulatory or other bureaucratic power over the companies using the patent, still worked as a cleaning tech until he retired....probably 3-5 years earlier than he would otherwise have been able to afford to. He worked for a private company, albeit on a government weapons contract.
But no bureaucratic regulatory personnel who have any decision making authority or recommendation responsibility inside a government agency which has oversight authority over an industry should be getting paid in any way, shape or form by those industries that they "regulate". Guaranteed corruption.
Dr. Fraud is corrupt, should be in prison.
