The boyfriend and girlfriend, both in their mid-twenties, did not want to share their names but decided to share details of the incident in hopes of warning others. Comments:

This is the kind of crime that terrifies people and in every city. The couple was just waiting for a rideshare and got beaten and robbed by 'a group' for no reason. Now they are living in fear.

As long as people remain defenseless this will continue to happen. It's better to be charged with using some kind of weapon against an attacker than to speak from your hospital bed, after the fact, about the attack. There's bear spray, self defense batons, knives, guns, etc. If that happens more often thugs might start thinking twice about random attacks on strangers.

RE #1, Colorado has very sane CCW laws, it is easy for a non-criminal to obtain a permit in the state and carry a gun for legal self-defense. No need for less capable, less effective alternatives.

Okay - my first question for the myopic navel-gazing couple is: what the hell were you thinking? It's 1:00 AM on 18th and Larimer; what did you THINK was gonna happen to you? Denver is now run by woke Democrap idiots. Thugs, thieves and druggies run around untouched. Police are nowhere to be found. Encampments of "homeless" people (IOW, thugs, thieves and druggies) litter the streets. I haven't spent much time in Denver since I retired and no longer have to go there - but on the occasions when I do travel to Denver, I always carry a concealed weapon. My final question for the unhappy couple would be: do you want to be tried by twelve, or carried by six?

Another reason why my wife and I don't live and work in the People's Republic of Denver anymore. The couple is darn lucky they weren't shot dead. I doubt the couple was armed. Makes little sense to be standing out at a street corner at 1am in what used to be a small little cow town. Cotton's piece carefully leaves out the ethnicity of the gang who assaulted the couple. Black on white probably. Typical of KMGH to sanitize its report.

I regularly go to Colorado, and we stay well away from Denver, except passing through on the interstate going E_W on I-70 or N-S on I-25. Nothing in Denver I want, and it is a very leftist, increasingly crazy and violent place. An old friend, daughter of a close flying buddy, lives in downtown area. I cannot fathom that, but she loves it. No accounting for taste.

I live in the Denver suburbs and used to go downtown all the time. The day I drove into a parking garage and saw homeless camping out in a couple of spaces was the last time I went there willingly. Slowly but surely, I've moved all regular appointments into the suburbs. Even my downtown friends prefer to come out to see me instead of hanging out downtown like we used to. I only go there when there's no other choice.

WARSAW — During his presidential campaign, President Biden often reminded his audience about the heavy weight that the words of a president can carry. “The words of a president matter,” he said more than once. “They can move markets. They can send our brave men and women to war. They can bring peace.” They can also, as Biden discovered on Saturday, spark a global uproar in the middle of a war. With nine ad-libbed words at the end of a 27-minute speech, Biden created an unwanted distraction to his otherwise forceful remarks by calling for Russian President Vladimir Putin to
