A massive search is underway for a deranged killer responsible for murdering two homeless men and wounding three others in a series of senseless shootings in Washington, DC and New York City this month, officials said Sunday. The NYPD and Washington, DC’s Metro Police Department released a joint statement announcing a lone gunman is wanted for sneaking up on sleeping vagrants and shooting them in both jurisdictions–including the two men attacked early Saturday morning in Soho. News that a serial shooter was on the loose came shortly after a third homeless man was found dead in Manhattan.(Snip)The suspect’s attacks turned deadly last Wednesday when he allegedly fatally stabbed

Little Italy merchants are screaming “Mi offendo!” after learning Gov. Kathy Hochul awarded a $20 million economic and tourism grant to their Chinatown neighbors, The Post has learned. Civil leaders in Little Italy said they weren’t even asked to jointly apply for the state grant even though their businesses suffered alongside Chinatown’s during the COVID-19 pandemic. “After what our nation has experienced in the most recent past concerning issues of equity, who would believe that the State of New York would favor one ethnic Manhattan community, in this case Chinatown, to the detriment by exclusion and apart from its neighboring ethnic community, Little Italy?”

New York—Walgreens and other retailers have swapped out the clear fridge and freezer doors at thousands of stores, instead adding opaque doors with iPad-like screens showing what’s inside. Some customers really, really aren’t into it. The screens, which were developed by the startup Cooler Screens, use a system of motion sensors and cameras to display what’s inside the doors—as well as product information, prices, deals and, most appealing to brands, paid advertisements.(Snip)“The digital cooler screens at Walgreens made me watch an ad before it allowed me to know which door held the frozen pizzas,” said someone on Twitter.

Most people will need to get a fourth COVID-19 vaccine dose to be protected from the virus, the head of Pfizer said on Sunday.
“It is necessary for most” people, CEO Albert Bourla said during an interview on CBS’s “Face The Nation” when asked if Americans can expect to get annual COVID booster shots every fall. The regimen of two initial doses plus a booster is not able to protect against variants and wanes too quickly in strength, Bourla conceded—making additional shots inevitable. “Right now, the protection that you’re getting from the third [shot], it is good enough—actually quite good for hospitalizations and deaths—it’s not that good

Chicago city workers who don't have their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, a group that includes about 2,800 cops, will be placed on nondisciplinary no-pay status on Sunday after the city won another court battle over its mandate last week. The city will consider disciplining workers on a case-by-base basis, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said Friday. 'All city employees, including Chicago police officers, who fail to comply may also face disciplinary action, up to and including termination. These decisions will be addressed at an individual and department level, and are being undertaken in a manner that will not impact public safety or the continuity

President Biden’s $1.5 trillion government funding bill funnels millions of dollars in pork to vulnerable Democrats in November’s midterm elections while benefiting Republicans who helped secure its passage. Mr. Biden’s 2,741-page budget bill, which passed with bipartisan support last week, was the first in more than a decade to include earmarks. The discretionary spending measures were long banned under Republican control of Congress but returned last year under Democrats’ unified control of the House and the Senate.
Although Republicans also benefit from the budget’s allotments, some of the biggest winners from the inclusion of $8 billion in earmarks are Democrats facing tough reelection challenges. Sen. Raphael G. Warnock, for instance,

Former President Barack Obama announced Sunday afternoon: 'I just tested positive for COVID', but said Michelle is still clear of coronavirus. 'I've had a scratchy throat for a couple days, but am feeling fine otherwise,' the former president tweeted in describing his symptoms. 'Michelle and I are grateful to be vaccinated and boosted, and she has tested negative. It's a reminder to get vaccinated if you haven't already, even as cases go down,' Obama tweeted. He did not mention whether either of his daughters Malia, 23, and Sasha, 20 were tested for the virus, but both are currently in college and likely away at school.

A new poll could spell big trouble for New York: Nearly four of every 10 voters here are thinking of fleeing. Their No. 1 reason: high taxes. The survey, released this month by Zogby, found that 38.9% of voters are “considering” or already have “made plans” to head out, up five points from a month earlier.(Snip)Most notably, a stunning 36.7% say their top reason for wanting out is that taxes are “too high,” a gripe more people cited than any other. Even a quarter of “progressives,” 32% of “liberals” and 38% of “moderates” cite high taxes as their strongest motivation to leave. Never mind the druggies and crazies,

Police released horrifying video Sunday morning that shows a deranged man jumping over a desk and stabbing two workers at the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan a day earlier. The 60-year-old suspected of the stabbings was still on the loose as of the video’s release. The NYPD identified him as Gary Cabana. Authorities said he was angry after his membership was revoked because of two previous incidents of disorderly conduct in recent days. When he showed up to see a film at MoMA shortly on Saturday afternoon, he was denied entry and then stabbed the two workers in a rage at 4 p.m.,

Sorry, suckers. Jars stuffed with slimy leeches—bound for three states—were seized by customs officers in Philadelphia last month. About 300 blood-sucking parasites arrived in six shipments from Bulgaria between Feb. 19 and Feb. 25 and were headed to destinations in Connecticut, Florida and Illinois, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Philadelphia said in a news release this week.
“Customs and Border Protection officers and agriculture specialists often encounter unique and interesting things, like this jar full of icky bloodsuckers, while inspecting goods being imported to the United States,” Joseph Martella, CBP’s area port director in Philadelphia said in the release. The leeches were confiscated for violating

For many Americans, March 11, 2020 is the day the coronavirus started to feel like a real pandemic, as our elected officials rushed to respond to the crisis. Two years later, Americans’ view of their civil liberties—and their confidence in public officials — has taken a beating. A new poll conducted by YouGov and Americans for Prosperity (AFP) and released exclusively to The Post reveals that Americans feel their core freedoms are less secure than before the pandemic. This is true often by substantial margins: 42% feel less secure about voicing their opinions, 43% feel less secure about their freedom to protest, 36% feel less secure about their freedom to

The downtown Nashville, Tennessee, record store that was opened by Opry legend Ernest Tubb in 1947 and has been a landmark in country music for decades will close as the building is being put up for sale. The owners of the Ernest Tubb Record Shop said in a statement on Friday they were heartbroken that the store, which has been in its current location on Broadway since 1951, will close in the spring.(Snip)The record store was the original home of the Midnite Jamboree, a late-night radio show that aired after the Grand Ole Opry radio broadcast and featured artists who crossed the street from the Ryman Auditorium

Americans chafe for now at our dumbed-down freedoms and our new muzzles, but we'd better get used to it seeing how the Great Reset has only just started. But when the time comes, remember who did this to us.
