The federal government, that bloated DC bureaucracy, that center of massive spending and outcomes that are rarely, if ever, positive, has gotten far too big. It does much, but little of it well, spending money like there’s no tomorrow while achieving little, racking up a massive mountain of debt and inflating the currency away to nothing for no corresponding gain of note.
Yet worse, much of what it’s doing is unconstitutional; federal agencies of dubious constitutionality rule over the American people like eastern despots while the rules they promulgate crush small businesses under a mountain of paperwork or make whatever problem they’re meant to “solve” even worse.
So, what’s to be done?

Return the federal government to the size it was in 1960. About 90 percent of these slugs would be gone

Eliminating the Department of Indoctrination, ahem, the Department of Education, would be my first department to eliminate followed by Energy. Then, cull and replace lots of dead wood in Justice.

The real problem is the power Congress has given the unelected Bureaucrats.
I proposed a Law that No Bureaucrat created policy or Rule can be enacted unless 2/3 of the House/Senate Agree and the Potus signs it. That would stop most of this out of control Regulation and other Citizen Abuse.
Also, Citizens should be allowed to SUE the Bureaucracy for damages etc. and the Govt. should pay all fees for the Citizens Lawyer (Citizen picks their lawyer)!

Erasing the Dept of Education would be WONDERFUL!
Sadly, bureaucracies seem to be the one immortal thing on our planet.

There should only be four cabinet offices - - State, Defense, Treasury, and Justice.
Everything else - - and I mean EVERYTHING else - - must go! Start by turning over all federal land - - outside of D.C. - - to the respective states in which they're located. Then end all government ownership, operation, and subsidizing of schools. Next - - end the ridiculous and deadly 51-year-old "War On Drugs." Then no more "transfer" payments - - no taking money from one person and giving it to another - - for any reason.
Start with those things - - then give me a call - - and I'll tell you the rest of the program.

Several problems:
1. The enemy....I mean democrats get a say.
2. It would take decades to unravel, streamline, make more efficient and effective government. And see 1 above.
3. Congress grants these unelected bureaucrats to do the work they themselves are to lazy to legislate.
4. The bureaucracy is the deep state. Between themselves, trasoncrats....I mean democrats and the judiciary, they will fight and or sabotage anyone interfering with that gravy train and vote generating apparatus.
5. I believe that I've heard all of this before.
Frankly, it would be easier, cheaper and quicker to just end it all and start over.

Andy Biggs is a great Congressman.

Red meat for the boobs. Republicans have played this card for years and years, and the government expands under their administrations time and again.
And then let's talk about money and employment. Both are the lifeblood of local politics. It's called "bringing home the bacon", and no politician starts these cuts at home, do they?

Article I, Sectoon 8 of the U.S. Constitution contains what is called the 'elastic clause.' It is interpreted to mean that the Congress can do whatever is necessary to run the government.
Instead of tilting with Article one windmills, a conservative congress could exercise control over the federal courts. Congress has the constitutional authority to limit jurisdiction of those courts. Should it choose to do so, Congress could clean up the immigration mess, most of which has been caused by federal district court decisions.

Every bureaucratic entity, no matter whether it is useless, obsolete or counterproductive, has a tenacious constituency invested in its perpetuation and growth. That will never change.

Fire every other government employee. If the remaining employees say they cannot do their jobs without more people, fire them as well. Tired of paying the salary of people who are never held accountable for their failures.

It's a good start, but I can think of some other bureaus and departments that can be either consolidated or eliminated altogether!
