MELBOURNE, Australia — Tennis star Novak Djokovic faces deportation again after the Australian government revoked his visa for a second time. Immigration Minister Alex Hawke said Friday he used his ministerial discretion to revoke the 34-year-old Serb’s visa on public interest grounds three days before the Australian Open is to begin. Djokovic’s lawyers are expected to appeal the cancelation in the Federal Circuit and Family Court as they successfully did after the first cancellation. CORRECTION*

If there was any integrity in Professional sports, every player would leave. Australia was at one time a freedom-loving place...it's a shame, what it has become!

Revoked on public interest grounds? The public has no interest in watching the Open without the Serb. Those Aussies have lost their minds. It would be laughable if it weren’t so scary.

Evidently, there is no such thing as natural immunity.

Send him packing so the world can see (America) what an out of control, power hungry, narcissistic politician can do to freedom & liberty.. Remember when we were the home of the free and the “brave?” Our Republic is being assaulted by a select few fear mongering bureaucrats & elitists.

If I were Novak I’d be on a plane faster than you can say ‘this open is a joke without me.’

...you know how we hear tearful , self-congratulating , sports story after sports story from athletes ...about how at some past sporting event ( true or not) ... white players ( going " full-on Atticus Finch" ....displaying tremendous personal courage and integrity) would STAND UP in OUTRAGE ...and in support of their discriminated colleague , they would BOYCOTT the event that they perceived slighted a minority teammate..??
...and everyone reading it would agree with tears in their eyes ... "Yeah ....THAT'S what I would have done too IF one of my teammates was unfairly singled out!"
...I guess those ARE fairy tales....???

Mr. Novak may be a Serb, but he knows what an Italian Salute is. He should give one to Mr Hawke at a press conference and board his flight out of the Aussie Gulag.
To think that any player would leave the Open in solidarity is dreaming.

I’ve been to Australia numerous times on business and always stayed on for a bit of vacation. I loved the country. Now, the closest I might get to Australia is Hawaii. But probably not even there as it’s almost as much of a leftist hellhole as Oz. Maybe Utah would be the closest. (I live on the east coast)

Djokovic has been in Australia for about two weeks now. He has shown no signs or symptoms of Covid and is clearly not a danger to the people of Australia. It seems that the Immigration Minister and other petty tyrants in Australia are more invested in maintaining their control over the people than protecting the people. Also noted in the article, Djokovic's immigration ban from Australia would be for 3 years, not for just this tournament.

They want to prevent him from playing because of a vaccine that doesn't help lol Not really A GRAND SLAM tournament without the best player in the world and defending champion. There will always be an asterisk behind this tournament.
