Time Magazine isn’t exactly known for being a news outlet with a lot of love for the good guy. It often awards its “Person of the Year” title to people who are in vogue on the left.
This is the magazine that declared Adolf Hitler was the winner in 1938, then named Joseph Stalin the winner the very next year. In 2011, they named “the protester” the person of the year, and then Greta Thunberg in 2019. To be sure, they’ve put their fair share of Republicans on the cover for the award,

In California, they’re trying to protect 3-year-olds.
Or, alternately, they’re trying to protect themselves from 3-year-olds.
Hence, anyone attending a San Jose Sharks hockey game will now enjoy the solace of knowing every toddler present has been either inoculated or negatively tested.
On December 6th, the Sharks posted a COVID-19 revision at NHL.com.
The team plays its home games at the SAP Center, formerly known as the San Jose Arena.
“In accordance with an updated health and safety directive mandated by the State of California affecting ‘mega-events’ which includes concerts, sporting events, and other shows,”

Objectively, the news on the economy over the last few weeks has not been encouraging. November’s jobs report showed a miss of over 50%. Then yesterday’s inflation numbers dropped like a thermonuclear weapon on the White House’s narrative. After a week of colluding with the media and waging a PR war to try to convince people the economy is actually great, inflation was revealed to be 6.8%, the highest in 39 years.
Naturally, the polling has shown significant disapproval with the situation, whether we are talking about Joe Biden personally or the right-track/wrong-track numbers.

Should people be punted from parties if their pigment is paltry?
Such a question’s currently being publicly posed at a private liberal arts school in Pennsylvania.
A December 2nd op-ed at Swarthmore College boasts a titillating title: “Should We Be Kicking White People Out of Parties?”
Writer Sameer Halepoto notes that Caucasians are crowding soirees.
And when whites are out and about, others are put out:
Hosted by the Swarthmore Queer Union (SQU), Swarthmore African Student Association (SASA), Swarthmore ENLACE, and the Swarthmore African-American Student Society (SASS), the party at Paces the Saturday before Thanksgiving welcomed diversity more than most.

Get ready for a lot of panic but not a lot to panic about as reports show that Omicron, while being the latest variant, is the least threatening of the COVID-19 variants according to reports.
According to the New York Times, the variant comes from South Africa where, despite spreading rapidly, seems to have little or no effect on those who contract it. Researchers in Pretoria sent reports that those with this variant of the Coronavirus are “much less sick” than previous patients.
“In fact, they said, most of their infected patients were admitted for other reasons and have no Covid symptoms,” said the Times.

Recently I watched an interview of Glenn Loury, a black professor of economics from Brown University, done by Peter Robinson of the Hoover Institution. In it, he makes a remarkable statement quoting his friend Shelby Steele, himself a black English professor who now writes books commenting on current affairs.
Loury quotes Steele to the effect that “the problem before [blacks in America] now is not a problem of oppression. It is a problem of freedom. It is a problem of seizing opportunity, the problem of taking responsibility.”
It echoed within me as I have been thinking similar thoughts about the problem of freedom,

I regret to inform you that Dr. Anthony Fauci is upset. The most destructive domestic force during the COVID-19 pandemic, in my opinion, wants Lara Logan of Fox News to be disciplined. Why? Because Logan had the audacity to offend Fauci’s sensibilities with a Nazi comparison.
Apparently, the rules have changed and now comparing a government official who has an authoritarian bent, dismisses constitutional concerns, and loves power to a member of the Third Reich is off-limits or something.
Here was her comment, which requires a bit of nuance if you want to understand what she’s saying.

This now makes two articles today that I have to assure you aren’t satire. In short, we all know what CNN is insinuating here.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis wants to reestablish a World War II-era civilian military force that he, not the Pentagon, would control. DeSantis pitched the idea Thursday as a way to further support the Florida National Guard during emergencies, like hurricanes. The Florida National Guard has also played a vital role during the pandemic in administering Covid-19 tests and distributing vaccines.

Inflation numbers for October 2020 to October 2021 came in at a staggering 6.2%. Much of that increase, of course, has occurred under this current administration. That number is up dramatically from the 2% inflation rate that was recorded from October 2019 to October 2020 during the Trump Administration.
For many years, including during the Obama and Bush II years, inflation hovered around 2-3%. That was always the target the Federal Reserve set as their goal to keep the economy humming without it overheating and causing inflation.
If you really want to see how dramatically inflation decreases your buying power, go on the internet and find an inflation calculator.

Gov. Ron DeSantis continues to lead while other Republicans cower in the corner. With the rise of the so-called “Omicron” variant of COVID (they skipped the Xi variant for obvious reasons), the Florida governor has chosen to double down on policies that actually make sense.
Lockdowns, mask mandates, and vaccine mandates simply haven’t produced results in other parts of the country. Michigan, led by Democrat Gretchen Whitmer, serves as the latest example with the state now having the highest COVID case rate in the nation. In comparison, DeSantis has rightly decided that it’s better to follow actual data and real-world results than to abide by the gospel of Fauci.

Women have come a long way.
Surely, there was a time when some didn’t want to be women.
Early in America, they weren’t allowed to vote.
But they gained that right, and upward they went.
Then bras were burned and independence espoused.
Later — some might say — they replaced men as the less-maligned sex.
And now…they don’t want to be women.
Such is the case for select sojourners, and it’s an issue at a women’s college in Virginia.
As reported by NPR, a crew of collegiate females is ditching their daughterness.

Many months ago, I wrote an article entitled “We Don’t Have a President.” That was in response to Joe Biden disappearing for several days, while Israel entered into another war with the Palestinians and a cyberattack took down a major pipeline in the United States.
Those concerns seem quaint now, given the disaster in Afghanistan and the escalation of a series of domestic issues that followed, from high inflation to the supply chain crisis. Of course, the response to COVID-19 has been no better, and another confused measure was taken yesterday in response to the newest variant scare.
Initially, Dr. Anthony Fauci signaled that a travel ban was not necessary,
