Recently I spent a couple of days in Dubai-on-Thames, formerly known as London.(snip)I went to the old Tate Gallery, as it used to be called, to see the exhibition there of William Hogarth titled Hogarth and Europe. The Tate Galleries—there are now four of them—are directed by Dr. Maria Balshaw, and if you want to know how degraded Britain’s cultural elite has become, I cannot recommend Dr. Balshaw’s little talk on YouTube highly enough, for it will tell you all that you need to know on that subject. (snip)It was only to be expected, I suppose, that the Hogarth exhibition would be accompanied by racist commentary,

Comments:

Some of us have hoped that the arts would be immune from racism. Forgetaboutit. Dalrymple tells about his sad experience at the Tate. Propaganda galore. And some of it pretty far-fetched. A reach. Sanctioned by the UK government.

FTA: "The fact is that art apparatchiks in the modern world care not a fig for beauty." Of course not, beauty comes from God. The minions of Satan wallow in their rotting souls and their only pleasure is dragging others down into the muck. Their dead and blackened souls find beauty disgusting and loathsome. The war against beauty is just another battlefield in evil's war against God. Well, I've read The Book and know the ending. Beauty will always be a part of my life, now and for eternity. Choose wisely, my friends.

US-China Strategic Rivalry Plays Out in Pakistan 5 replies

U.S. interests in Pakistan include maintaining stability in South Asia, preventing war between India and Pakistan, containing international terrorism launched from Afghanistan, as well as countering the Chinese regime’s expanding influence and alliance building. Once the primary U.S. ally in the region, as Pakistan sinks deeper into China’s orbit, U.S.-Pakistan relations become more and more ambiguous. Pakistan is also slipping deeper into debt and regional stability is threatened. Chinese leader Xi Jinping first announced the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) during a 2015 visit to Islamabad. He spoke of a long-term vision for Pakistan’s development, pledging between $40 and $60 billion of investments.

Kellogg plans to permanently replace some 1,400 workers who have been striking since October, the company announced this week. Kellogg and the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers, and Grain Millers International Union failed to reach a new contract agreement, leading to the planned change. “We have made every effort to reach a fair agreement, including making six offers to the union throughout negotiations, all which have included wage and benefits increases for every employee. It appears the union created unrealistic expectations for our employees,” Chris Hood, president of Kellogg North America, said in a recent statement.

The “woke” movement was giddy after Jan. 20, 2021. The Left controlled both houses of Congress. Joe Biden was drafted as the necessary veneer of 1980s Democratic normality to ram through an otherwise hard Left agenda. All the major cultural, financial, economic, entertainment, and media institutions had played various roles in seeing former president Donald Trump not just defeated, but also impeached, twice. Joe Biden may be celebrating his historic achievement in reaching an inflationary milestone previously set by Jimmy Carter, but the working class is paying the price for their economic stupidity. (graphic)The Bureau of Labor Statistics releases the November inflation rate today [DATA HERE] showing another rise in the annualized rate of inflation of 6.8 percent. As you review the data, ask yourself this question: ‘Is there anything in the current economic landscape to indicate this is going to stop?’ The honest answer is no. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is proposing an interesting legislative approach to curb the White House illegal immigration process. In essence, what the Florida legislature will be enacting are laws that restrict any private company from doing business in Florida if they are participating in the federal programs to distribute illegal aliens. If a federal contractor facilitates the transport, housing or subsidy of an illegal alien into Florida the state will block that contractor from any state level business relationship. “The legislation proposed today will make clear that the State of Florida will not provide any discretionary benefits to illegal aliens and will also prohibit state and local agencies from

Even though Jussie Smollett has been found guilty of staging a homophobic and racist assault against himself and lying about it, an overlooked tragic injustice of the three-year saga is that he wrongfully gets to be the most famous person associated with a plot that he cribbed from untold numbers of lesser-known people before him. The story he told about an innocent minority violently attacked by Trump supporters (i.e. white men) was done countless times before he did it in January 2019. The goal is for the federal government to stop adding carbon dioxide to the atmosphere by 2050. The high court punted the law's legality. Its action today sends the case by abortion providers back to a district court, which could lead to it being suspended.
