President Biden has signed a series of executive orders to make the federal government carbon neutral. The Democrat president on Wednesday ordered federal agencies to purchase electric vehicles, harness wind, solar, and nuclear energy to power facilities, and to use sustainable building materials. The goal is for the federal government to stop adding carbon dioxide to the atmosphere by 2050. In the next decade, Biden wants the government to cease purchasing electricity produced from sources that emit carbon dioxide. By 2035, the administration wants all new federal cars and truck purchases to be zero-emissions. Right now, only about 1.5% of the government fleet is electric vehicles.

Comments:

Military tanks and armored vehicles - - will be required to carry very, very long extension cords - - in case they need recharging during a fire fight.

Is "the Beast" going to be electric?? All of the other 80+ vehicles that make up Zhou's motorcade electric?? We tried this during "Zeros" administration. I was on a Joint Base, the Air Force took over the TMP vehicles (vans, pickups, etc.). They purchase some pathetic EVs to show they were cutting edge. The little EVs sat - no one used them, they couldn't haul stuff, had a very limited range/endurance, and were a worthless "investment" - but hey, it looked good.

If not the evs will remain a small share of the market...short mileage commuters and lefty snobs who think they are saving the planet. CNN’s firing of anchor Chris Cuomo leaves a major void in its crucial 9 p.m. hour, at a time when the network is already struggling to reverse a decline in ratings. Network President Jeff Zucker fired Mr. Cuomo on Dec. 4 after a legal review found that he had violated company standards by helping his brother, then-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, respond to allegations of sexual misconduct. Chris Cuomo’s show, "Cuomo Prime Time," was CNN’s highest-rated program and a linchpin of its prime-time programming. Don Lemon is viewed internally as one contender to fill Mr. Cuomo’s time-slot, according to people familiar with the matter.
