The Star News Network confirmed Monday that Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley was the same Mark A. Milley charged with driving under the influence in Cumberland County, North Carolina, after a Nov. 19, 1982 traffic stop.
The Star obtained the arrest and court records from the incident, which were validated by a Cumberland County, North Carolina, records section clerk to The Star last week.

Who cares about Social Security Numbers. Obama's SS Numbers indicate that he was born in New England about 1890..

In essence I'm of the same mind as #1, but maybe we're at the point of giving the lefties a taste of their own medicine.
In defense of that, I'd point out that this story isn't invented by a law firm or paid-off conspirator--it's factual--so let it be revealed. Team Milley can ignore it or respond as they choose. Keeping our hands off and repeatedly turning the other cheek have not worked out in our favor, and there is way too much on the line now to continue that approach.

I’m with #5.
The self righteous holier-than-thou left- who formerly fought a war to preserve slavery, institutionalized racism, and founded the KKK to terrorize their political enemies- deserve to be buried under their own irrationality and propaganda.
Unfortunately his real crimes are legion and this is a pimple. Hopefully this will draw attention to his real crimes, not exhaust The Gullibles as to not-marvelous milley.

I sure as haides can't stand this general. But 1982 a DUI charge? Really pushing it. But then, pubbies and others have had their past history dragged from the grave so to speak. Maybe it's a gotcha for the dems. Some one is on a "cancel" high horse. There's more evil going on in 2021 than 1982. Ptooey. Did he ever pretend he was black and put on black makeup for a joke/show? Now there's a tried and true incident of the distant past.

How would Rush approach this popped up info ? Why now ? Who benefits ? who put this out there ? Does it matter ? Why would a journalist commit journalism now ?

It's irrelevant. Only Democrats get away with this stuff anyway. Remember George Bush's 1976 DUI revealed a week before the 2000 election?

They have to find stuff newer than this. All they are doing is proving there is a hatchet job going on with regard to Milley.

There are plenty of reasons to dislike, distrust and disrespect Milley. A 1982 DUI is not one of them. Stop reaching.

I detest Milley but this is just BS now. It minimizes his real 'accomplishments'. /S

DUI's in the early 80's usually resulted in a traffic ciration. MADD was maybe 2 years old, and came about in 1980 due to how common driving drunk was. An early 1980's DUI was not a serious offense like it is today. Back in the early 80's, people still drank at lunchtime and at the company Christmas party.

Sort of like getting Al Capone on income taxes, whatever it takes. So he probably should have been denied a security clearance in 1982, think of all the damage that could have been avoided if the law had been applied equally.

Lip service to the law. Should someone's past negatively affect them later in life? The offense occurred when he was way younger. But it did provide a clue of future actions? Excuses. How many of you are tired of the "We will deal with that when the time comes", way of management? I personally cannot stand it. If you lack imagination and capability, "We will deal with that, if and when the time comes", proves to everyone you are incapable of meaningful thinking. At all levels of government we are staffed by clods that think like that. Is it any wonder that when you fire a millennial there mother calls you begging you to give their kid another chance? That way of thinking and excusing behavior is ingrained in losers.

Medals Milley is a traitor. His old DUI's aren't particularly relevant to the case of treason.

Apparently, fat, drunk, and stupid IS the way to go through life.

Those of us who were there know that in 1982, as long as you didn't drink, get drunk, drive, have an accident, AND KILL SOMEBODY - it was no big deal. Different military, different society back then.

That should have been the end of a young Officer's career. Who, or what saved him? Fellow Massachusetts buddy, John F'n Kerry?
