The Food and Drug Administration -- funded and controlled by Big Pharma -- is heavily biased in favor of drugs. And since Big Pharma wants to solidify its monopoly over medicine, it has coerced the FDA to campaign to limit consumer access to non-patentable nutritional supplements, which promote health and prevent disease. Drugs, even when taken properly under prescription, cause 1.9 million hospitalizations per year and close to 900,000 patients to experience serious drug reactions, according to a Harvard report. More alarming statistics: prescription drugs are a major health risk, ranking fourth (with stroke) as a leading cause of death; and new FDA-approved prescription drugs have a one-in-five chance of

I called the FDA about this, I suffered through the stupid phone computer selection process. I finally got a human on the phone who told me that I could go to the FDA website where they announce their edicts. I told her that we don't have a say in this policy and she told me that we can vote. I laughed at her and told her that obviously our votes do not matter. I wish I had not done this, my blood pressure is through the roof. If we EVER get this thing squared away we need to abolish the acronym deep state: CDC, FDA, IRS, FBI, CIA, NEA, EPA, BLM, HHS and probably hundreds of other blood sucking tyrannical agencies that hate us and make our lives hell. I hate these people and they hate me. Problem is that we pay their salaries and it's going to stop or they're going to kill us all.

Article doesn't say so, but none other than Republican darling John "Maverick" McCain was behind a huge push in the early 1990s to strictly regulate dietary supplements. FTA: "More alarming statistics: prescription drugs are a major health risk, ranking fourth (with stroke) as a leading cause of death"; elsewhere I read that preventable medical errors rank #3 in the USA as cause of death. Heck of a track record.

250,000 deaths each year from medical mistakes and misdiagnosis. 1 in 5 chance of getting an infection from hospitalization. This added to the prescription drug deaths. I have observed some individuals that take up to 10-15 pills a day. I have never read anywhere what one of those pill cocktails make, and I don't think any of the doctors have any idea either.

I’ve been dealing with pretty severe GERD for the last 4 years and went to a GI specialist who prescribed 2 medications for me. Neither worked very well and then I found out that one of them was contributing to my osteoporosis which the GI Dr. knew about from my records but prescribed anyway. Which forced me to go have a special bone infusion to stop the damage.
For the last year I’ve been going to a holistic practice which has me on 10 supplements. I also take some others which have nothing to do with helping my stomach but do help in boosting my immune system. My GERD has been under control since a couple of weeks after I started with the holistic practice. I also get occasional acupuncture and between the two have been feeling like myself again.
I’ve pretty much given up on “western” medicine.

More evidence that the Government is NOT your friend.
So, where do we keep the torches and pitchforks, and how do we go after the faceless, anonymous chair sitters who wield such power with no responsibility and no accountability?

Supplements are unregulated snake oil and a waste of money. That being said it is your poison. The medical malpractice deaths are a total exaggeration. If you are given the wrong drug or dose of the drug and you die they call it a medical error death even though the death issue to the underlying illness.
As for big pharma pushing prescription drugs, most medications we use now are generic and don’t make big pharma money.
And for those who don’t believe in modern medicine, when social security was passed in the 1930s the average life expectancy was 65. ITT is now 78. Even better, if you live to 55 your life expectancy is 83 because after 55 we do not engage in as much stupid behavior like drag racing, drug abuse, driving crazy fast, driving drunk and drugged and gangbanger shooting. Save your supplement money and eat vegetables.

My mom, a very Christian woman, learned about supplements from Shakley. I don’t think she did it so much for monetary gain, she just got really into natural medicines. I was taking supplements in high school lol. I’m 62 and not on any medications at all and I am forever grateful to her for teaching me a little of what she learned. My daughter is big into holistic/natural medicines as well. Big pharma is not your friend.

Excuse my typos. Proton pump inhibitors used commonly for acid reflux, are associated with increased risk for osteoporosis even with short term usage. However, scientists have not found a mechanism for this to happen. Association is not causation, and without a clear causation there probably is no association. If you need them, they work very well.

The FDA and a lot of doctors (AMA for example) don't want us taking supplements because they don't want us healthy. They don't make money making us healthy. They make money selling us more drugs if they can help us get sick. Everybody's body absorbs vitamins and minerals a little differently, basically the same but still with different efficiency, so just eating vegetables may or may not be enough, it doesn't matter what a heart doc says.
A LOT of people have used supplements very effectively to keep from getting covid or if they got it anyway, to survive covid that the doctors were more than a little willing to let them die from by refusing to give people treatments that we knew could work.
I have no patience with people telling me vitamins and minerals don't work. Different people have different needs. Right now,CDC, FDA, AMA, and too many doctors and politicians want more deaths and people's effective use of supplements stands in their way.

# 6 - Oh I think the number of deaths by medical practitioners is more than we think. I worked in a hospital and we were tested yearly. First question, how many copies of an incident report go in a patients chart? Answer: NONE. I heard about misadventures in surgery and medicine doses. Medical people talk. They talk carelessly in the presence of clerical staff. Money on new pharmaceutical drugs happen at the beginning of use. After a certain amount of time, then generics appear. I've been prescribed older diabetes meds. Charge is usually around $30 a month. Brand new diabetes meds can cost almost $2000 for a 90 day supply. I'm sure as soon as the patent wears off, these too will drop to around $30/mo.

the FDA was known for losing shipments of controlled-substances, by the box-car load.
Poof! Like a Vegas magic act.
This reputation didn;t discourage them from going on jeehod in the 90's[?]
vs all natural remedies and their proponents-especially md's.
Predictably, they sashayed into federal court locally, and got thrown out on their tails.
That totalitarian itch has resurfaced? Like shingles?

Since Vitamin D3 seems to protect against the Fauci-Wuhan virus better than The Shot, they want to make it illegal.

Our health system is good at fixing critical conditions. It's not very good at fixing chronic conditions. Physicians learn next to nothing about nutrition in medical school so most know nothing except drugs to cure or alleviate our ailments. It's a testament to our people, off-the-beaten-path researchers, and entrepreneurs that many Americans know a lot about alternative medicine, including supplements. Without these our already bad health as a nation would become far worse.
