Chicago—A Chicago mother says a Cook County judge has taken away her parental rights after learning that she is not vaccinated against COVID-19.
In what all parties agree is a very unusual and perhaps unprecedented step, a judge at Chicago’s Daley Center has stripped Rebecca Firlit of custody because she refuses to get a vaccination shot.(Snip)She says out of the blue, Cook County Judge James Shapiro asked her whether she had been vaccinated. Firlit told Shapiro she had not because she has had bad reactions to vaccines in the past. Shapiro then ordered that Firlit be stripped of all parenting time with her son

Frankly, until a few of us who get zinged by these self-righteous professional busybodies start putting them in their places, this will only get worse.
And by "places" i'm talking of includibg six feet under. Officials who abuse their power need to find out what the Second Amendment means...

Whatdahey!
Is this the egomaniac judge's first move toward a campaign for Mayor of Chicago or Governor of Illinois? If so, he's a shoe-in for either job given the doofuses who have held those positions before him.

Folks, we are on our own. If we think anyone (government officials, the police, the Republican Party, the military, etc, etc, etc) is actually going to stand up for our Constitutional rights, we are in for a massive amount of disappointment.
Sadly, I have the very real feeling that this is how it felt to sane people living in Germany in the mid 1930's as they watched their rights disappear, and their neighbors being herded onto cattle cars to "work camps"...

I have adult children who refuse to get the shot. They are beginning to encounter overt hostility to their choice. Some people seem quite comfortable asking vaccination status. What gives anyone the right to ask that of strangers??

Kids don’t die even if they catch it. If they catch it they have antibodies and immunity. This is extremely concerning if some judge can get away with this.

Illegal. This judge has no right to do this. Absolutely wrong.

A judge in Cincy made it a condition of probation for one defendant. Get the jab or go to jail.

#4 I’ve had the vaccine on the recommendation of my hematologist. It did not produce any antibodies to the virus. I will not have the booster against her advice.
If any one asks if I’ve been jabbed my answer is yes. Period. It is none of their business to start with. It’s an insulting and stupid question as my situation highlights. They might have an answer to their question but they don’t have the facts. Too dumb to know the difference. I don’t feel bad for them.
And no one who knows me has ever asked. It’s always a stranger.

You are so correct, #3. We in red states feel same as people in blue states about that. I heard Bill Maher (!) now we have the answer to the question often asked since the 1950’s. How could the German police and soldiers just go along with what an evil Hitler government told them to do? Answer: We are hearing the same answers they later gave. I was doing my job. I wasn’t going to lose my job and my pension. There are not very many Bonhoeffers, Schellers. We don’t have another Republican with the skill set to protect us that Donald J. Trump had.

All in the name of public safety. Any act, no matter how intrusive, can be justified in the name of the 'greater good'.

Once again, citizens who only look to politicians to save them are already doomed. In fact, if the people showed some spine and resolve, then perhaps our elected representatives would feel more inspired to get in the game.

Chicago is a Banana Republic by this point. The judge ought to be fired and disbarred for this.

Sooner or later there will be payback for all this Leftist Dictator Behavior...you can only push good people so far before they react in their own way.

This whole vaxxed/unvaxxed brouhaha is getting way out of hand. What's next? Scarlet letters? Stars sewn on clothing? Cattle cars full of resisters to the re-education camp? Considering that the original vaccines are essentially ineffectual against the current mutations of the virus, anyone who allows their self to be stampeded into getting jabbed is an idiot.

I would have told this Brown Shirt judge that due to HIPPA it was none of his damn business! I'm sure it wouldn't surprise anyone to know Judge Shapiro is a Democrat.

Lost in all of this is the fact that vaccinated people are more likely to spread COVID to others than unvaccinated people.

The Democrat "party of civil rights" has no problem trashing basic civil rights by forcing people to inject chemicals they don't want into their bodies, and the Republican "party of personal liberty" raises not even a fingertip in objection to prevent the people being bulldozed by the government.
