I understand that the commanding general of the 82nd Airborne Division has told the commander of the British special forces at the Kabul airport to cease operations beyond the airport perimeter.
Maj. Gen. Christopher Donahue has told his British Army counterpart, a high-ranking field-grade officer of the British army's 22nd Special Air Service Regiment, that British operations were embarrassing the United States military in the absence of similar U.S. military operations. I understand that the British officer firmly rejected the request.

I'm always amazed at the utter ignorance of liberals. They have no manners or concerns for anyone or anything but themselves. They're horrible people and should never, ever, be in a position of authority. See how well that's going!

The only appropriate response to this is to quote Anthony McAuliffe (a US soldier), who said, “NUTS!” Too bad we don’t have more like him these days.

It had to have come from Idi Amin or Woketard Milley, #6. But the speculation is that Xiden will not challenge the 'agreement' between the US and the Tallybon under any circumstance, even though it has been broken repeatedly by the goat humpers.
I fully expect the US to cut and run on Aug. 31st, and throw whoever is still stranded there to the wolves.

Obama purged all the real true American military brass in all the armed services, he promoted the crap we have now that masquerade as military men. I'll bet dollars to donuts that AP, NBC, ABC, CBS and the other fake news agencies knew this was happening and never reported it. You don't always have to spin the news, you can bury it too. Clearly, the military brass is worse than we could ever imagine if this fool is an example of their courage. Donahue is a shameful coward who would be denounced by any buck private who served during WWII. This guy has shamed the United States military singlehandedly and should be relieved of duty and sent packing. He is an embarrassment and his pathetic retort to an ally, is disgraceful. If this is the state of the leaders in our military, we are in a world of hurt. Can you imagine what China and the Taliban are thinking? My goodness! Have some self-respect and courage.

Maj. Gen. Christopher Donahue IS NO COWARD!
He has an outstanding military record. We should not be calling him deragatory names based on this Article. We don't know nearly enough facts to jump to these negative conclusions. That's what woke Democrats do.
I'd want to hear a recording of the complete alleged conversation between Domahue and the commander of the Brisish special forces before publicly bashing Donahue.
Remember how Democrats spun President Trump's famous phone call that was used by Shufty Shiff amd other vengeful Dems as the basis for Trump's impeachment; the call that the Democrats assumed Trump would never disclose.

Yes, they are embarrassing the YS with the rescues. The US deserves to be embarrassed. If the French & British forces can do it, there is no excuse ours can't. Pretty sure the soldiers are ready to go and do rescues but are being held back by the cowards in charge.

He's 82nd airborne. Have him put on his 'chute and drop him out of a C-17 in the outskirts of Kabul with one round in his pistol and tell him to get to the airport. If he makes it he can stay in the army but with no sweet pentagon or contractor job.

To #20:
You are right that we should not judge Donahue without the facts of the case.
But those facts include the knowledge that no-one in the American chain of command, including Donahue, has made any effort whatsoever to rescue 30,000 Americans trapped outside the Kabul airport. Following orders is important...but not when those orders directly put American lives at unjustified risk.
How, exactly, do you think this story will play out...other than with 30,000 Americans being ransomed for whatever the Tollybon ask, and China/Russia/Iran/NKorea emboldened to kick America's butt on every other front?

Chances are the conversation between the commanders of the US 82nd Airborne Division and the British Special Forces (SAS) if it really did take place has been blown out of proportion by the media that is always looking to create as much controversy as possible.
Remember as far as this current Biden created fiasco is concerned, both those commanders are operating under two different national chain of commands. The Commanders of the 82nd US Airborne Division in Afghanistan must comply with his orders from the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Secretary of Defense and the President of the USA; while the commander of the British Special Forces in Afghanistan must follow the orders of the British Chiefs of Staff, the Minister of Defense, and the Prime Minister who heads up (as the British say) Her Majesty’s Government. Since Biden never consulted with the British Government before commencing his instant military retreat from Afghanistan, with the British Prime Minister unable to reach Biden for several days, obviously the British had to take the “bull by the horns” and immediately commence rescuing as many British citizens, apparently also including some Irish citizens, and friendly Afghans as possible to have a chance to get them out. Apparently units of the French Foreign Legion did the same rescuing French citizens.
In contrast Biden decided that American troops should stay on the Kabul Airport and assist in evacuating US citizens and others who showed up there to be flown out of Afghanistan, while he continued negotiating with the Taliban, apparently dangling a promise of US foreign aid (bribes) to the Taliban in return for their cooperation in allowing US citizens to leave Afghanistan. How all that will work out is a crapshoot at the moment.

The ongoing murder of innocent children via Abortion has caused us to give nary a nod toward the killing now of Americans in Kabul. The Biden farce has requested the Brittish military to stop helping Americans trapped in Kabul because IT MAKES AMERICA LOOK BAD.
Do we think that "looking good" is worth 1 or 2 or 100 American lives?
I voted for Trump.

So how many of you arm chair commandos have actually been in a general officers position? #20 is correct...do not judge this guy by news reports. None of us have any idea of what the top leaders are telling him nor do we know exactly what deal, if any, someone made with the tally-ban about Americans trying to get thru.
The tally-ban have no central command structure. They have councils that make decisions and these councils are local...there is no pentagon equivalent in their structure. The local militias will do as their local commanders tell them to do and that is part of the reason we see such actions taking place around the airport. If the commander of a local group decides to beat people, shoot them, take passports from Americans...then that's what his men will do.
What the Afgan tally-ban leaders are saying on tv does not necessarily translate to the reality on the ground.

I disagree with #'s 20 and 39. Donahue's words speak loudly how impotent our top military and Biden is and it is blasted for the whole world to see. They have brought the US down to the cowardly level of what we used to think of France. Laura Logan was right. They could have avoided all of this long ago if they would have stopped sending billions to Pakistan and hit the "Tollybon" along their route and supply lines out of Pakistan. Pakistan is not our friend, they have harbored the Taliban and other terrorists for years and we still send them money.
