After the CDC could not find legal grounds to extend a moratorium on evictions that began early in the coronavirus pandemic, Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., is pushing the CDC to do it anyway. President Biden announced Thursday that he was not going to try to extend the moratorium, calling on Congress to take action instead. Waters, who unsuccessfully tried to pass a bill, expressed skepticism that the CDC could not extend the moratorium as they had done in the past. "I don't buy that the CDC can't extend the eviction moratorium - something it has already done in the past!" Waters tweeted. "Who is going to stop them?

So Mad Max comes out for abandoning our whole governmental system in favor of mob rule and gangsterism. "Who is going to stop them?" How about the Constitution, dingbat... ever heard of that?
What a contemptible harebrain.

So Mad Maxine thinks that the CDC should have control over rent. I didn't know that real estate rental issues fell under the CDC unless it involved deadly diseases. Rent is not a disease issue. Whats next? Will the CDC be in charge of levying taxes, driver's licenses, immigration laws, space exploration policy?

Typical Washington DC> Pass the responsibility on to an unaccountable Washington DC bureaucracy where nameless people make the decisions and policy instead of the people who are elected to do so. Congress seems to do this a lot when they have an unpopular thing that they want to support but shouldn't (like no rent and DACA). They ignore it and pass it off to someone else to take responsibility for rather than take the blame themselves.

Irony alert. In 1954,Democrat Governor Faubus of Arkansas refused to comply with the Supreme Court's ruling that schools had to be desegregated. Republican President Eisenhower sent troops to enforce the ruling.

Mad Max says just ignore The Supreme Court ruling.
I want to be a slum landlord when I grow up...where nobody has to ever pay rent... And I don't have to repair any broken pipes or windows. (which I would hate doing anyway)

where does this babe think she's living? South Africa? that might be the way things are done in that country, which has crashed and is now burning but, we don't (as much as we'd like to) just ignore the law and proceed like hoodlums and gangsters on to the finality of some disagreement to end in our favor.
she's not called "Mad Max" for no reason at all.

Not a precedent you want to set, asshat. The rest of the country might just start ignoring SCOTUS rulings, too.

Well then, Mad Maxine, if we are allowed to pick and chose which federal laws and rulings by the Supreme Court that we want to ignore, Texas officially bans all abortions and homosexual "marriages" -- effective immediately!!!
That sounds like a fair trade-off to me!!! We can call it the "Mad Maxine Rule"!!!

Does she believe in the rule of law?
Is she aware California has extended the moratorium which should be her only concern for her direct constituents?
