Time was our country was a nation of laws. Look no further than the Watergate scandal which brought down the Nixon administration. Back then, you could count on the media to act as watchdogs for the American people, counted on to keep the political class in line. Sadly, that no longer appears to be the case.
Instead now we see the mainstream media acting as a public relations arm for the Democratic Party, totally disinterested in anything which doesn’t fit a leftist political agenda. The Washington Post, the paper that brought down Nixon, is one of the biggest offenders in looking the other way.
And what of the once-proud FBI?

I don't agree the media was America's watchdog during the time of Nixon's downfall. JFK's father bought the election for him and there wasn't much made about it. Only conservatives are worth reporting on according to the media. Was so then, continues today.

I no longer buy that standard line about all of those good FBI agents in the field.
Prove it to me.

I am a staunch law enforcement person, but we do need to ensure the whole system is operating properly.
There are simply far too many people who have been found innocent for the system to be operating properly. The system also includes the judges, investigators, staff and prosecutors.
Yet, with a system built on gaining promotions based on convictions, there is far too much temptation to "close the case" as quickly as possible. Especially high-profile cases that create press and pressure.
Just saw a 20/20 episode of a man who the small town(pop. 6000) of Wilmington, IL focused on for the murder and sexual assault of his 3 year old daughter.
It wasn't until the FBI came in with 36 investigators to look into the matter, only to discover the DNA that had been originally collected had not been processed. Seems someone from the prosecution called to tell the FBI to stop testing, which the prosecutors office says was supposed to be only on some items not everything - more to the problem of CYA.
The DNA ended up excluding the father, and they later found a woman who had a feeling about an old boyfriend who just happened to be in prison already. The guy confessed to the killing and sexual assault, and even provided clues the police and prosecutors ignored (like the pair of tennis shoes with his last name, EBY, on the inside that had not even been processed, and how he was burglarizing the neighbor across the street which again the police ignored as having any connection). EBY confessed to slicing the neighbors screen, and how he didn't need to force himself into the home as the back door was unlocked, thus, reason for no forced entry.
What I would like to see happen is EVERY single case have the DNA be tested (again, if necessary) to ensure we have the right people for the crimes they been convicted of.
Maybe we can start there - particularly the oldest cases.
I get it, the system will say it may call into question every other case those people worked on. So what? Let's just do the right thing - for EVERYONE.

Here's the plan. Defund the police. And if that doesn't sell, demoralize the police. Get rid of good police who really abide by the Constitution and its rule of law. Replace them with Leftists who have an axe to grind with society. They will have no conscience and will be more than willing to "follow orders." They will exact revenge on truly good people, especially Christians. We will then have the Amerika that Obama really wanted, but couldn't pull off between 2008 and 2016.

Look on the bright side. If the morons succeed, that lack of police means the leftards won't have our tax dollars paying official thugs to steal our tax dollars at gun point or to provide their (the 'officials' and media's) protection. It means open season and no bag limit on leftards. They just didn't think things through.

In our history, in places where "the rule of law" didn't work, people eventually formed Committees of Vigilance, to keep order, to arrest criminals and to punish them. In some places they were a reasonable facsimile of 'normal justice', with jury trials, etc. In other places, they were thinly disguised lynch mobs.
I expect history to repeat itself if law enforcement checks out in wholesale ways.
I also expect that most rural or semi-rural counties will have their ELECTED county sheriffs still doing a solid job enforcing the laws, long after the central cities have collapsed into anarchy, like Portland is currently doing or has done. And likely county court systems will still work. And if things get dire enough, local incarceration and even executions may have to become the standard if the larger systems are just broken down.
People will eventually devise some way to deal with violent criminals. Count on that.

We will not lose America. The people have a little say in that decision and we are not controlled by democrats or labor unions. If you can't stand up and fight, get out of the way because there will be no prisoners.
