The Biden administration is expected to announce wide-ranging sanctions against Russia over allegations of a massive hacking campaign into federal agencies and for election interference, multiple reports said late Thursday. The sanctions will call for 10 Russian diplomats to be expelled and a new executive order will expand prohibitions on U.S. banks that trade in Russian government debt, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The sanctions come a day after Yuri Ushakov, President Putin’s policy adviser, told John Sullivan, the U.S. deputy secretary of state, that Moscow would "act in the most decisive way possible" if hit with sanctions, Reuters reported. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is in Brussels

On April 13, 2021, the FDA decided to pause the Johnson and Johnson vaccine’s use due to six women suffering from an unusual type of blot clot and low platelets, which assist a person’s blood with clotting. There have been two distinct opinions on this move in the commentariat that are opposed.
The first position is that this pause on the Johnson and Johnson vaccine is ridiculous based on population-wide statistics for vaccine side effects. Six women out of over seven million doses are not sufficient to deprive the rest of the population of a vaccine effective in preventing severe illness and death from COVID-19. This point of view is understandable

On Thursday, Democrats in the U.S. House and Senate plan to unveil legislation to expand the size of the Supreme Court, potentially reversing the originalist gains under former President Donald Trump.
The bill would add four seats to the Court, bringing the total from nine to 13, sources told The Intercept. Congress has the authority to set the number of justices on the Court, which has remained at 9 since 1869. House Judiciary Committee Chair Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), Subcommittee Chair Hank Johnson (D-Ga.), and Rep. Mondaire Jones (D-N.Y.) are leading the bill in the House while Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) will lead the effort in the Senate.

USA Today ultra-leftist Nancy Armour swung a big bat Tuesday, verbally bludgeoning hateful, ignorant conservative state lawmakers working to protect women’s sports. She accused them of trying to “otherize” trans athletes and open a new front in the culture war, repeated LGBT talking points and urged the NCAA to hurt conservative states in the pocketbook.
Nearly half the state legislatures are trying to protect women’s sports from the intrusion of confused males competing with females. Armour (seen above) accused them of passing bills that aren’t based on scientific facts. It’s bigotry that comes with a price, and she exhorted the NCAA to inflict financial pain on conservative states.

A Republican defeated a Democrat in a New Hampshire House special election Tuesday in Merrimack, a town President Joe Biden carried by six points in the 2020 presidential race.
In the state’s first special election since the 2020 cycle, Town Councilor Bill Boyd beat out former state Rep. Wendy Thomas by eight percent, strengthening Republicans’ majority in the 400-seat House, 213–186.
“The turnout was huge by special election standards, reflecting the enthusiasm on both sides,” local outlet WMUR observed. The seat became vacant after the death of state Rep. Dick Hinch, a Republican who had just been elected speaker of the House before he died in December.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) sent a letter last week to Vice President Kamala Harris, demanding the Biden Administration close the Health and Human Services Emergency Intake Site (EIS) for unaccompanied migrant children located at the Freeman Expo Center in San Antonio. In new developments, law enforcement sources say authorities are now looking at conditions at another facility in the Rio Grande Valley.
A law enforcement source within CBP, speaking on a condition of anonymity, says Texas Rangers visited the Donna facility in recent days to investigate conditions. Rangers conduct major violent crime, public corruption, cold case, and officer-involved shooting investigations. They also oversee

Formally introducing his cabinet to the public, Joe Biden proudly declared: “This is the first [time] in American history that the cabinet looks like America.” Looking at the actual appointments and not just the gender, skin color, and ethnic origins of the Biden team, it is a team that may look like America but doesn’t think like America. In fact, it is a team whose outlook is anti-American.
Take Biden’s vice-presidential choice, Kamala Harris, whose antipathy for America oozes from her every pore. At a February 2019 presidential campaign stop, for example, she said Columbus Day should be replaced with “Indigenous People’s Day”

Arclight Cinemas and Pacific Theatres will close down, a victim of a global pandemic that brought moviegoing to a standstill. The news comes as things were beginning to look up for the hard-hit exhibition industry and serves as a reminder of the economic devastation wrought by a public health crisis that upended cultural life.
“After shutting our doors more than a year ago, today we must share the difficult and sad news that Pacific will not be reopening its ArcLight Cinemas and Pacific Theatres locations,” the company said in a statement. “This was not the outcome anyone wanted,

Poor Walt. This man has probably turned over in his grave 100 times by now with all the antics of Disney.
On Tuesday, April 13, Disney Chairman Josh D’Amaro posted a blog on the Disney Parks website titled “A Place Where Everyone is Welcome,” because apparently they weren't very welcoming before, despite having Gay Days for 30 years.
Right off the bat, you should have got the hint to grab a barf bucket for the spiel about "taking action to create meaningful change." The announcement included a video and narrative to explain the new addition to the longstanding tradition of The Four Keys: Inclusion.

Texas is turning blue. We know because that’s what we’re told. Despite Donald Trump winning the state in 2020 and the 10 Democratic targeted House races all ending up in Republican hands, the state is getting bluer all the time.
We know because… well, if the media tells us Republicans are sinking and Texas is where the “evidence” will appear next, naturally, the race to succeed Rep. Ron Wright, who died of COVID-19 in February, will be the “canary in the coal mine” according to Politico.
If the special election in Texas is any indication for 2022, the GOP’s ongoing identity crisis will leave it with a real mixed-bag of candidates

A group of top Democratic Party pollsters are set to release a public statement Tuesday acknowledging “major errors” in their 2020 polling — errors that left party officials stunned by election results that failed to come close to expectations in November.
In an unusual move, five of the party’s biggest polling firms have spent the past few months working together to explore what went wrong last year and how it can be fixed. It’s part of an effort to understand why — despite data showing Joe Biden well ahead of former President Donald Trump, and Democrats poised to increase

The alleged Israeli attack on Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility targeted an electrical substation located 40 to 50 meters underground and damaged “thousands of centrifuges,” Iranian officials revealed in recent days.
Fereydoon Abbasi-Davani, former head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, told Iranian media on Monday that the attack hit an electrical substation located deep underground and managed to damage both the power distribution system and the cable leading to the centrifuges in order to cut power to them.
The Iranian official stressed that such an operation takes years, saying “the design of the enemy was very beautiful.”
