The firing of a makeup artist from the buzzy new Amy Poehler project is causing ruptions in the TV world, we’re told.
Earlier this month, Page Six reported that the artist in question was canned from the “Untitled Tracy Oliver Project” — the new show from the “Girls Trip” creator dubbed the “Black Sex and the City” — for allegedly saying the N-word repeatedly in front of one of the show’s lead actresses, while singing along with a rap song. (We know both the name of the actress and the makeup artist, but we aren’t going to print them due to the sensitivity of the situation.

I don't normally comment without reading the posted article. Suffice to say the the excerpt triggered my GAG reflex. Used the "N-word repeatedly while singing along with a rap song ? Oh Puhlease.

Well, if they can make reciting rap lyrics racist then maybe they will move to making listening to it racist well. If rap music is declared racist by the SJW battalions (who appear to be mostly white people) it ought to make for some amusing antics on the left. If they can manage to get that filth banned from radio, TV and movies so much the better.

I learned years ago as a kid, never to use the “N” word around people no matter the kind of people. I’m just not comfortable hearing that word, either. Therefore, I avoided problems.

The makeup artiste is mixed-race, so she gets a pass for only half of the N words she sang from the rap "song." Quite a sensitive issue, especially during bLACK History Month, which as we all know is an especially painful time of heightened racial awareness in The Community.

Why is one race telling the other what they can and can not say? If it so offensive, then ban it entirely. If it is used in songs, then shut up. I know this opinion will go nowhere but the situation is getting so absurd.

I suggest the black "community" is missing a BIG economic opportunity in the "N-word" for the reason that African-Americans OWN the word and therefore are in a position to LICENSE it for the use of others. Think about it. In the same way ASCAP sells performance licenses for all the songs they control, some organization like the NAACP could sell licenses to use the "N-word" such that violation-- even by AA and POC artists themselves--will not be a criminal offence burdening our law enforcement system but a civil matter of a copyright and contractual violation for which they can recover damages, and in special cases in which the violators are white supremacists, even recover punitive damages which can run into the millions. It'll be their way of saying, "If you're going to make us feel bad, you're going to have to pay for the privilege."

I just looked up the word "funny" and the phrase "no talent" in the dictionary and what do you know, Amy Poehler's picture and name were listed as examples.

The make-up artist's friends claim that she is a good person in a bad situation because of this. Sorry lady, there are thousands of others in the exact same situation who are also good people who also lost their jobs because they dared to mention the unmentionable N word. It may have been completely innocent but actions have consequences. You are not special. Either everyone can say it or nobody can say it. At least Amy Poehler is being consistent.

Interesting, if you ban the use of inappropriate language on your set, in your school/business/home, you should ban the playing of that language as well. It is really quite childish to think that just because you played a song with it, (even if you didn't say the words) you are exempt from the rule. I think the actress should be punished as well.
