For those who have watched the Senate confirmation hearing of Amy Coney Barrett for Supreme Court justice, we know one thing: facing the inevitability of her confirmation, the Democrats are using this entire hearing as a big, fat campaign ad for Joe Biden. It's all about COVID, the ACA, and health care — just like his entire shtick for the last few months. But is this really all they are up to? History proves that the Dems are usually up to no good, especially when they seem to be behaving. It's possible they will just use the remainder of their time to filibuster,

Blumenthal is questioning her right now. What a piece of Trash he is! HE is in no position to question ANYONE'S integrity! He is a Liar and Fraud. Anyone who says they were in the Military and served our country, when he did not, should not even be on the Judicial committee. He has no right to judge anyone or anything!

This article states exactly what I was thinking when Hirono sprang that unbelievably insulting question about sexual preferences on her, and furthermore, why she asserted that this expression was now permanently offensive. The Dems have no shame whatsoever. Their intentions are always evil, and they will use any tactic, no matter how absurd or inappropriate in order to destroy the target of their hatred.
How can ANYBODY in good conscience vote Democrat?

Yes. Same thoughts here!
You are absolutely right, OP. Wish the senator had been questioned about the basis of her outrageous question when she asked it. It was a flashing warning light with all of the alarms.
Asking now probably provides an easy opening for the very type of shenanigans we have come to expect from the left. Republicans need to shut it down and go to a vote before Dems ever begin their accusations and calls for investigations. This good woman and her family do not deserve the evil of which the left is capable.

One more very relevant comment here. I believe that this tactic (setting up a surprise witness falsely asserting wongdoing by Barrett) also requires a requested delay by the Democrats for the committee's vote. That is, instead of being taken tomorrow, I believe the Democrats will insist on delaying it until NEXT week in order to throw the hearings into last-minute chaos and demands that all further hearings and votes be delayed until after the election.
This appears to be their real game. The relatively mild treatment of her so far is intended to lull the always naive Republicans into "being reasonable" and granting the Democrats the one week delay. Watch for it.

It's about time Lindsey ended this farce and called for a vote. Enough is enough!

Abuse of this woman, Amy Coney Barrett who has the intelligence to out think any of the idiots questioning her is offensive. She can testify without notes while these arrogant fools sit there with notebooks packed with materials, and staff handing them notes and questions the entire time,

Would not be surprised if at the last minute of the hearings some democrat senator presents some former student who claims they were sexually molested by Barrett. I’m sure they are working round the clock to fabricate the story and prep the paid off student. Anything to delay the vote.

Does anyone else remember how "icky" it felt when Ted "the swimmer" Kennedy was questioning Justice Thomas when those bogus sexual harassments charges were brought against him?!?!?!? Of all people to question anyone about being a pervert!!!!
This is really getting to reach that level of "icky-ness"!!!

Since they aren't asking questions, simply gavel an end to the hearings, and go to the full Senate vote.

They can request- request denied.. take the vote.. confirmed
First of all- as a female, a mom, a working mom- I am so appalled at the line of questions by other females to Judge Barrett..
Why did nobody ask Mattressback these questions while vetting for VP?
I am all for a good vetting of Justices- on their merit, the position on cases- etc.. but Democrats take stupidity to new levels. Prayers for ACB

And while the lunatic left harasses Judge Barrett, Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham sits there like a potted plant. Pitiful. And his sniping, "I don' listen to radio." We all know he was alluding to Rush Limbaugh. Lindsey must not really want to be re-elected. Well, he can always lobby for the military industrial complex. Or head up the McCain Think Tank and Global Trust Fund. -- I do know a Democrat Committee Chairman would never allow Republicans on the committee to harass a Democrat SC nominee. Man up, Lindsey.

Sally Zelikovsky correctly concludes that Democrats will play dirty tricks including a possible last minute claim of sexual harassment from some Joe Snook. They tried that in spades against Kavanaugh without success. The dirtiest trick I've ever seen was when Senator Blumental, a graduate of Yale Law School, during Kavanaugh's SC confirmation hearings said that Bret had to prove himself innocent. Hearing such nonsense I knew Blumenthal did not believe that crap for a second. He's was so hyper-partisan he turned the presumption of innocence on its head. His assertion was CRINGEWORTHY to the Max.

If Grahmnesty and the other Rebublicans on the committee have the backbone, they will deny the request for delay to investigate these 'new and startling accusation'. Deny the request and show the Dems this tactic no longer has any teeth. Call their bluff. End the last minute gatcha surprise witness charade now

They couldn't touch Kavenaugh until they came up with that Blasey-Ford farce. You can bet they will savage Barrett in some obscene manner. I think some of these recent Hunter Biden Ukraine leaks are an attempt to intimidate a couple of pocket-lining RINOs (i.e. Pierre Delecto) into staying the course with confirmation. You can be sure Mitt's corrupt offspring all had their hands out in the Ukraine.

I am amazed that so many prominent legislators don't mind outing themselves as to how abysmally stupid they truly are about the laws of the United States. I should be too old to be this naive, but there it is!

I wondered about Crazy Mazie's question, which she read from her staff-prepared notebook.
will one gay former student come forward and lie, much like Blasey Ford in the Kavanaugh case? Is the cause of leftism greater than the truth?
will we have another Dead Ted Kennedy cliffhanger, like Clarence Thomas hearings?
Lindsey has to man up on this, should it happen.

This was my first reaction as well - but anything they might throw out there would be crazy and without merit. Perhaps they're doing it to further make their base even more crazy and paranoid.

The blame falls into Chuck Grassley's lap. He sat thru the circus of the Kavanaugh hearings and there was NO prosecution of Avanti,(Former Presidential candidate Avenatti!) no prosecution of Swetnick. Had he brought charges the Dems would not bring another circus.

Don't forget the demand for "an FBI investigation" of ACB's "perjury" following the emergence of the poor individual who had his/her/its sexual orientation attacked by ACB. You know, back in that Notre Dame classroom back, you know, in the day.

This was exactly my first thought when I first heard this exchange. The Senator from Hawaii should be asked what was the basis for her question; otherwise this just proves they have absolutlely no basis for not confirming ACB.
