Trump and His Campaign
Are Being Outclassed

Joe Biden delivered a solid, if overhyped, speech last night accepting his party’s nomination for the highest office in the land. It effectively put a cap on the Democratic National Convention (DNC) and summed up the Democrats’ case thus: Joe Biden is a good and kind man; Donald Trump is not. Biden’s decency has been hugely exaggerated, as my colleague Ramesh Ponnuru has explained at Bloomberg Opinion, but he does seem a Boy Scout compared with his opponent. (Snip) Trump and his team have played right into Biden’s hands too.

Was this undergraduate-level leftist screed published in the formerly respectable National Review, or in Mother Jones or The Nation? These days, who can tell?

If William F. Buckey Jr. had know what National Review was going to become
I suspect he would have devoted his eloquent erudition to something
more productive than founding a pseudo-right wing co-conspiratorial propaganda
partner for Media Matters.
Buckley was a solid pioneer in the early effort to create a "core platform" for the Republican Party.
Now National Revue has become nothing more than a corrupt "peer review" scam to normalize the
rantings of RINO Never Trumpers.

The only salvation for Biden is that he can't remember all the crap he's done. He was never a 'boy scout' in the character sense. He's a slimy politician.
I don't like Trump, but I can respect the man. I have no respect for Biden.

There was a time when I actually subscribed to National Review. But then it seemed to have less credibility than Mad Magazine but without the cleaver, funny spin, I gave it up. The political humor of Mad was more intellectually relevant than National Review also. Then, they went off the cliff when they decided to become a Never-Trump publication. I am amazed that they still exist.

Publishing something like this ridiculous article, the formerly important National Review continues its decline into irrelevance. William F. Buckley Jr. is surely turning over in his grave.

Issac Schorr has no idea what class is-and has none himself, it would seem. Joe's so classy-he declared the back people a monolith and aren't black if they vote Republican. Very classy indeed. Then he picks a woman who used sex to advance her career-and came down HARD on crime. So hard, that she was discovered hiding exculpatory evidence. Yep, the Dems are sooo classy, Issac.
Trump has more class in his pinky than all the Dems in America combined.

I won't make friends here but I am alarmed and some of the article's points are correct. The bar was set so low for Biden that he didn't even get points deducted for a slipup that should have been ridiculed by everyone on both sides, and Trump hasn't figured out how to bring Biden out of his basement and staying in the basement has been a winning strategy so far. I feel less optimistic than I did in 2016 and I wasn't optimistic then (I live in the NYC area so it's impossible to gauge the rest of the country no matter what). I hope there are more hidden Trump voters than the polls suggest (I always lie to polls) and I hope the Trump campaign figures out how to move on the key states in ways that are effective. But they haven't even been good at fighting all the Russia stupidity. So yes, I am worried.

A lot of people have lost a spouse and a child. Does this qualify for running for President. Can’t complain about Trumps actions when ole joe was dating a married women. Takes two to tangle.
I voted for PRESIDENT TRUMP because of his policies. Just like the Dems. I don’t care about the sex lives of the candidates. So there!

If we are to believe recent stories, Biden was cheating on his first wife with Jill, his present wife, before the first wife died in the car crash.

anyone who has read Profiles In corruption will know the Biden clan is the dirtiest family in politics, and maybe the dirtiest, ever.
That will have to come out in TV ads, because the media, including Fox, are ignoring it.
if you add up all of the family corruption, I believe it would total in the billions of dollars.
and if the true story about Old Jo and adulterous Jill should come out, his reputation as a decent family man will sink faster than Beto's presidential campaign.

National Review is ramping up their Never Trumper screed with some new names but the same old garbage. They bleat dem talking points while trying to pretend they are having original thoughts. These clowns voted for Hillary and they plan to vote for Biden. They have NO further place in the Republican party and we should make it clear they are dead to us. At this point, I wouldn't care it they said things I agree with. They are not trustworthy or clear thinkers. They are whiny egoists.

IT sure seems like the National Review is winning its 'Race to the Bottom"; Wm.F. Buckley must be spinning in his grave? For years the Sears Roebuck catalog was the favored item to be hung for use, in most families
" Necessary'.... Whenn the N.R. lowers its quality of paper to newsprint... It will gain its 'most favored' from its current, 'emergency use only' status, across the land.

I think there is also a typo in the name of the publication:
Should be Notional Review, Not National Review.
Notional:
4: not real or actual; ideal or imaginary: to create a notional world for oneself.
5: given to or full of foolish or fanciful ideas or moods.

What absolute bilge. Did this reporter not note that Biden's speech produced no bounce? Anybody with two active brain cells who watched Biden knows that he said nothing except I'm a nice guy, I'm not Trump, and trust me. That's going to win hearts and minds? What this reporter appears not to understand is that the contest has not started in earnest yet. It will this week. What should make Dems worry is that you can't beat something with nothing.
