Good Riddance To Drudge

It used to be a thrill for conservatives to get “Drudged” – to have their piece linked on the Drudge Report. It meant traffic (which translated into money) and that a large audience would see it. It probably still means those things, only now it means them to progressive writers and websites. Whatever Drudge was, it’s not anymore. ...snip... Aside from his love of weather porn, Tom Brady, and anything Oprah or transgender-related, you might as well go to CNN. At least with CNN you’re getting it from the primary source.

I used to check Drudge multiple times a day. It was my second go-to (after this site) every morning. I took it off my bookmarks and haven't checked it in months. Aside from the anti-Trump stuff, it is a downer. Drudge revels in stock market dips, corona virus deaths, negative poll numbers. I don't need that in my life.

Try The Liberty Daily in place of Drudge.

Liberty Daily, Beige Page, Bongino Report, and several others are now doing the work Drudge used to do. Farewell and good riddance, Drudge. I used to visit several times a day, but I haven't visited for months now.

Agree with Derek Hunter 1,000%. I haven't read Drudge for years. Lucianne.com is my favorite place.

Twenty+ years ago, a newcomer to internet news, I used Drudge as an index to interesting sites. That is how I found Lucianne. Left him long ago when I realized he was going to the Other Side and that I no longer needed an index.

Poster #10, exactly the same here. I will thank him for leading me to Lucianne, I've been here since April 2001 and haven't gone to Drudge in over a year.

Drudge disappeared from the rear view mirror years ago. Ldot for me.
Also a newcomer, John Solomon's www.justthenews.com - recommended by Lou Dobbs.

Only went to Drudge a few times. Didn't see the use in it. It was basically just a list of links. I had already found Lucianne which always provided the first paragraph of each article. Viola, no need for Drudge. Lucianne provides much more info.

The website still has millions of traffic views but I think Drudge himself took the money and ran.

FTA: "Aside from his love of weather porn, Tom Brady, and anything Oprah or transgender-related, you might as well go to CNN." Hunter left out sex dolls. Everything I know about the sex doll industry (and it is TMI), I learned from articles linked by Drudge. At first, it was a window on a unknown world. After a while, it was downright creepy.

Haven't been to Drudge in years. One good thing - links at Drudge in the late 1990's brought me to Lucianne.

I originally went to drudge for the easy to parse links and would use it to browse through my favorite writers, maybe check out a link or three of interest that he posted.
Nowadays, going there is simply... disgusting. I have links to my favorite authors in my favorites list and I've dropped drudge like a rock in a mud-pit.
Splotches! Outa sight, outa mind.

I gave up on Drudge and replaced his page with the Libertydaily.com page, which is a more conservative than what the Drudge page has turned out to be.

Don't believe the numbers he's posting now. To still be that high, millions of liberals would have to be reading it and we all know better than that.

There is no way Drudge is getting the same number of eyes as in the past. The only reason his numbers remain high is the annoying auto-refresh. I happily left that site behind years ago.
