Political commentator Scott Jennings gave the Iran debate a much-needed dose of plain English after he received a briefing from a senior Trump administration official. Jennings' central point was simple: President Donald Trump used force when force became necessary, then paused further strikes when diplomacy had a chance to save lives.
Trump's critics have spent years calling him reckless, impulsive, and incapable of restraint. Now he's showing patience, and many of those same voices still can't bring themselves to admit what sits in front of them.
Trump has said talks with Iran remain active, but he has also warned his team not to rush into a weak agreement.

OK. I'm going to just trust Trump to get this right.
He usually does.

"By his humiliating failure to bring Iran to heel, nearly three months after starting a war that he said would last weeks at most". The author, Jackie Calmes, obviously fails to understand that just under 3 months is under 12 WEEKS. The left is so stupid it would be laughable if it was not so dangerous for our country.

Whoever rules Iran after this can't have an oil economy that is totally leveled--so in that regard, I understand why Trump isn't leveling the place, but sooner or later this becomes a stalemate.

The anti-MAGA types refuse to step back and look at what Trump has accomplished over the years.
The world has stopped walking all over us while taking our money.
I don't expect a president to be perfect. I do expect him to hold the welfare of the country as his top priority.
One more thing. Voters, we all have a role here. Keep up the pressure on those who get in Trump's way because they do not like him. The only sound politicians can hear is when someone says that they will not vote for them.

More from Calmes, the author. FTA: '....Trump has brought new, more positive attention to what he again this week derided as “Barack Hussein Obama’s Iran nuclear deal.” (The emphasis on “Hussein” is Trump’s, always.)' And why did Barry adopt that middle name? It wasn't his to begin with. O was sending a message. PDJT is saying 'message received'.

I will take a wait and see approach. And I am in favor of the president taking as long as it takes to get it right. That said, there are some troubling signs: even within this article, the authors proclamation “ USA IS NOT GIVING IRANIANS MONEY FOR NOTHING.” We should not be giving money at all, certainly not because they are extorting us with the Straight of Hormuz.
The problem is that the US side is not publicly stating what its positions are, giving the impression that they are willing to negotiate and bend on anything. Meanwhile, they Iranian’s are publicly stating their position, which has not shifted from the start. We are a long way from President Trump’s loud proclamations at the start of the war that only unconditional surrender would suffice.
As it stand, because our side is unwilling to make a public statement (perhaps wisely), it appears that the Iranians are going to win the right to turn international waters into their own toll road, through their terrorism, they are going to keep their uranium for future negotiations and we are going to release their frozen assets. And the world gets to live with an emboldened terrorist Iran, the people of Iran continue to suffer, Iran has won a great victory over the great Satan, and US prestige is greatly diminished. It appears that once again the US has started a war it could not win.

One of the brilliant things about Trump is that he doesn't let the riff raff rantings of the left, MAGA haters and wobbly supporters (Ted Cruz, I'm ashamed to see your name in the same sentence with Tom Tillis) influence his confidence, strategy and ultimate success. The guy's got balls and tackles world problems that no one else on the planet would even contemplate. My new line to friends who are losing faith: "Stop the whining and grow a pair like Trump."
As others have said, I trust Trump to do the right thing for our beloved country and get it right and solved.

Let's see. The Democrats, their buddies in the Enemedia, Europe and other tinpot dictator wannabes, and the Iranians are all bitching and blaming President Trump. It sounds to me like President Trump is doing everything right!

It seems evident to me that Trump has difficulty communicating calmly, precisely and non-bombastically with his supporters. Nor can he rely on the media to do so in a nonpartisan manner. This leaves the average American in a position where they are perplexed and anxious. Sooner or later they will not be able to sustain hope, and the media will notch a win for Iran. I hope Trump understands this!
