President Donald Trump wants to see the SAVE America Act, which would require proof of citizenship to register to vote, on his desk before he makes an endorsement in the Texas Senate race. Trump delivered his message to Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) and Sen, John Cornyn (R-TX) on Friday in an interview with CNN's Dana Bash. (snip) As Trump has not made an endorsement and still seems to be weighing the decision, all eyes turn to Cornyn and Senate GOP leadership to see whether they take action on the SAVE America Act, which has robust bipartisan support among registered voters.

The Save Act won't be on Trump's desk, and the DHS is still closed. The Senate will not get anything done. Congress will twiddle away all Trump's term on Epstein, the Clinton's, and Noem's ads.

won't happen; even if it does its constitutionally questionable. California voter id proposition effort is interesting though

I did some independent research on this topic. There are no "advantages" to shoplifting!!!!!
However, the disadvantages are pretty clear: Shoplifting increases prices for all paying customers. Stores (often in the poorest areas) are often forced to close because they are shoplifted into bankruptcy. Stores with a lot of shoplifting are forced to increase security (like locking most products up behind locked glass doors), which causes prices to go up even further to cover that expense, and causes so much inconvenience for honest paying customers that they will often go out of that area to shop with other vendors. And the list goes on and on.
So please send me my $1,000,000 fee for running this study and we'll be good!!!

Even if Cornyn does help this act, THAT is not reason enough to ever endorse that traitor...Remember he worked AGAINST Trumpster having a second act as 47! And sooo many of MAGA priorities!

See this is what I hate about politics. Trump wants the SAVE Act passed and is willing to stick Texas voters with a traitor for six more years. Cornyn is a hired whore, and Paxton is ready to bow out if Trump gets the SAVE Act. Isn't this some sort of voter suppression or just politics as usual? Doesn't the senate have another extended vacation pending? They have to have time to pack; it's almost Easter. Who has time for voting on bills that matter.
Why do Republicans talk to CNN, and Bashing Dana to boot?

Either way, Paxton is a h#ll a lot better than Cornyn. Cornyn is your pathetic RINO.

A little arm-twisting never hurt but it should be a no-brainer for all republicans to protect the vote from illegals. If you can't do that, resign now. A future with democrat control would be suicidal for the country.
That may sound pessimistic, #1, but it's probably true.

Yes, Mr. President. Way to recognize probable betrayal by RINOs and head it off at the pass. No SAVE Act, no endorsement.

There is no doubt that the congressional establishment Republicans are very weak and have been infiltrated by enough Democrat RINOS to make the Republican conference in Congress pretty much impotent as a conservative political force. As far as the leftist Democrats keeping the Department of Homeland Security shut down, the answer to that is for the employees of Homeland Security who have been working without being paid to just stay home!

The SAVE act is a no-brainer. If it takes more than a day for Cornyn to get behind it, dump him and go with Paxton.
Cornyn has no brain.

so disappointed in Thune. He doesn't have a more important duty than the SAVE Act

Trump needs to let Texas choose their own representation.
A "promise" from Cornyn to vote for the Save act is worthless.
Texas has had a democrat-lite representing them for decades, and this is their moment to dump him!
I would sit home before I would pull the lever for Cornyn!

Each two year election cycle has seen old school Republican Senators replaced by populists, eroding support for McConnell and now for Thune. That Thune is more motivated by retaining Cornyn -- and his own Leadership -- than delivering a victory for honest elections is telling.
