In a jaw-dropping twist straight out of an vigilante action thriller, a no-nonsense dad named Aaron Spencer just bulldozed his way to victory in a three-way primary for sheriff in an Arkansas county—while staring down murder charges against him like a boss. Yes, you read that right. This guy’s not your average candidate for sheriff. He’s the real-life hero whose toxic masculinity turned a predator into prey.

As I said always, to any one I talked to; mess with any of my kids and I will happily go to prison for manslaughter. Not murder, manslaughter!

There were many defining moments featured in the months-long battle for the ownership of Warner Bros. Discovery: sit-downs to woo President Trump, high-profile congressional hearings, a brutal bidding war, and a tampon. Yes, a tampon. During the negotiations, while Netflix was telling skeptical GOP lawmakers that it wasn’t a left-wing company looking to get more powerful by snapping up WBD, a delegation of legislators paid a visit to its headquarters, and one was both shocked and disturbed to find a basket containing tampons in the men’s restroom.

President Donald Trump announced early Saturday morning that the United States and Israel launched massive joint air strikes against the Iranian regime. The Times of Israel reports that Israeli intelligence is now assessing that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the longtime puppet master of the world’s biggest terror state, was likely killed in the strike on his compound in Tehran. However, there has been no confirmation yet. Israel “assesses” that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was likely killed in an Israeli strike earlier today, Channel 12 says, citing unnamed Israeli sources.

An Associated Press article deleted a statement on Wednesday from climate scientist Michael Mann, famous for pursuing a libel suit against National Review and Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI). Associated Press released an article Monday concerning the Trump administration Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) revoking a scientific finding that has been the backbone for US regulation on greenhouse gas emissions and quoted Mann saying the EPA would be cementing Republican climate denial with this measure. Associated Press later removed Mann’s statement from the article the same day it was published without stating why they did so.

A federal judge in Los Angeles on Monday temporarily blocked California from enforcing its new law that bans federal officers from wearing masks while on duty, ruling that the state law violated the Supremacy Clause. Judge Christina Snyder, who was appointed by former President Bill Clinton, ruled that the "No Secret Police" law discriminated against federal agents in its current form because it does not apply to state and local police as well, per Fox News.

The Native American tribe that owns the land under Billie Eilish’s multimillion-dollar Los Angeles mansion said celebrities should “explicitly” reference the tribes if they want to use them to virtue-signal. The Tongva tribe confirmed the “Bad Guy” singer’s $3 million home does sit on its “ancestral land,” after the 24-year-old used her Grammys acceptance speech to rail against ICE and insist that “no one is illegal on stolen land.” The indigenous inhabitants of the Los Angeles Basin, known as the “First Angelenos,” said they appreciate Eilish’s sentiment, but noted that the performer hasn’t contacted them directly — and insisted that next time, she explicitly reference them.

Superior Court judge denied his request to reconsider sanctions against him for having “acted in bad faith.” As a result, he owes more than $28,000 to two bloggers, who once faced $1 million in damages that a jury had awarded to Mann in his defamation suit against them. The ruling also had strong words concerning Mann’s conduct in the case, accusing him of presenting figures to the jury that he knew to be incorrect.

American gasoline prices continued to rise on Friday and are up the most of any week since 2022. Iran widened attacks on energy-producing countries near its borders and the Strait of Hormuz remains closed to shipping, dashing hopes for a quick resolution to a crisis sending shockwaves through global markets. The United States last Saturday began a military campaign in Iran, one that has continued throughout the week with aggression. Friday at 1 p.m. Eastern, the U.S. national average price for regular gasoline had jumped approximately 35.9 cents per gallon from the same time in the previous week, reaching approximately $3.34 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.

A significant number of House Democrats voted “no” on declaring the Islamic Republic of Iran a “state sponsor of terrorism.” Sponsored by Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL), the resolution passed the U.S. House on Thursday by a 372-53 vote. Two Democrats voted present. While squad members like Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) were expected to vote “no,” a full 53 proved somewhat surprising. The resolution said nothing about President Trump’s strikes on Iran, while saying the regime “remains the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism and provides substantial financial and military support to groups including Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis,”

By blocking a Senate vote that would let the SAVE Act become law, Democrats are setting themselves up for big trouble — since their arguments against voter-ID are so transparently absurd. Per Pew, 83% of all American adults support requiring some form of ID to vote in US elections — and that includes 71% of Democrats. Which explains the massive alliance of left-wing groups mobilized to fight the voter-ID measure that should appear on the ballot this fall in California, a state Democrats now completely dominate. The ACLU, Common Cause and so on would love to derail the measure before it faces a vote, even though

The argument against the war with Iran boils down to two points. The first point is that this war was initiated by the hated President Trump, and so it should be opposed. That point cannot be rebutted because it is not a point at all; it’s simply a reactionary expression of hate by people who scarcely bother to conceal their hope that Iran wins. So, let’s move on to the second point. The second point is that we were able to handle Iran’s aggression for many years without going to war, and so we could have continued to handle its aggression for many more years without going to war.

We should all be concerned about serious problems with our elections, the heart of our democracy. But we can’t fix problems that we refuse to face. There was no better example of the head-in-the-sand attitude than what was recently demonstrated by Kristen Welker of NBC’s prestigious Meet the Press, as she held forth with House Speaker Mike Johnson in February, regarding, among other topics, the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. In the wake of the Trump administration’s FBI seizure of 2020 Georgia election records, Welker barked at Johnson that raising questions about the validity of the 2020 election is dangerous to our democracy.
