While a number of Democratic lawmakers are voicing their support for a new bipartisan deal to bring the 40-day federal government shutdown to an end, members of the party’s left-flank are furious about the proposed agreement. Progressive Democratic lawmakers and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries excoriated a deal Sunday negotiated by fellow members of their party to reopen the government, citing their fear Democrats are going to cave without winning any substantive concessions in the shutdown fight. The group of Democrats argued their party should withhold their votes until Republicans agree to extend enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies. “We will

Comments:

It would be hard to make it clearer who wants the government shut down. Most Dems are furious their temper tantrums are ending.

The domestic enemies have been stamping their feet and holding the breath in frantic attempts to appear relevant for the past 40 days. Where has it gotten them? The temper tantrum mobs see nothing good in getting the country open. Real Americans are taking names and getting ready to kick keisters.

The Republicans had made it clear that they were not going to let the Dems' temper tantrum make them change their minds and give in to the Dems' ridiculous demands. Extending the subsidies is not going to "fix" the mess that is Obamacare. No Dem is going to admit that it is un-fixable. I think the Dem Senators were beginning to realize that even people in their own party were getting to the end of their patience with the Schumer holdout. They have not come across as the good guys so now they are trying to save face as best they can. The Dems are not the party in power but there are plenty of them who think they are and that the Republicans should do whatever they are told to do. Too bad.

Jefferies and the far-left Democrats are all nuts and so are those who voted for them. After reading the PJ Media Article and the rot within the Democratic Party and Obamacare, the Affordable Care Act needs to be abolished for good. The dollars need to go to the legal citizens in need and let them choose the insurance they want. Democrats and possibly some Republicans owe the government money.

WASHINGTON -- As Democrats savor their Election Day victories, some are capitalizing on the victory of New York City Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani and calling out party leaders for snubbing progressives, warning that alienating the left could cost them crucial House seats needed to take control and counter President Donald Trump’s agenda. (Snip) “There are no people, I think right now, who have a worse read on what electable means and less of a pulse on voters than the Democratic establishment,” said Morris Katz, who managed Mamdani’s campaign. Mayor Brandon Johnson is calling for more taxes on big companies in his 2026 budget proposal. Under the mayor’s plan, businesses in Chicago with more than 100 employees would have to pay $21 for each employee every month. Johnson said the extra charge would generate $100 million to fund local services like violence prevention. But it’s sparking heated debate as critics say the tax would hurt the local economy. Johnson defended the plan in a news conference Thursday, saying companies should invest more in the city. He told reporters that the tax would only impact 3% of the city’s largest

Kamala Harris is continuing her push toward yet another run for president, and that's leading to some awkward exchanges. As RedState reported, the failed 2024 Democrat nominee and former vice president is peddling a new book, doing her best to rewrite history in her favor. Part of that requires convincing Americans that she wasn't given a fair shot, both because of Joe Biden's late exit from the race and the dynamics surrounding President Donald Trump. Of course, that's not really the truth, is it? She's going to try, though, and that apparently includes claiming her 2024 campaign was "3D chess" in which she outmaneuvered Trump.

It wasn’t because they felt people were suffering – you don’t subscribe to a political philosophy responsible for 100 million deaths in the last century if you have concern over suffering – but because it was electoral politics, plain and simple. What changed the “principled stance” Democrats had been taking?
