The deployment comes as the city enters its fourth day of protests over President Donald Trump's immigration enforcement policies. About 300 California National Guard troops were already deployed to Los Angeles streets on Sunday, a move Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom called unlawful. The anonymous U.S. official confirmed that a Marine battalion would be sent to provide support, though the Insurrection Act is not expected to be invoked at this time. Gavin Newsom and leading Democrats have spent the last few days fulminating about "authoritarianism" by Donald Trump for sending National Guard and Marine units to protect federal law enforcement agents and sites. The Trump administration is vowing to find out who's bankrolling the L.A. riots because normal American people out there don't like it when they're tax dollars are misused to underwrite arson and looting. Taxpayers didn't sign on to underwrite the left's anti-American public spasms of insanity. Underwriting these bad actors with government grants is tantamount to forcing taxpayers to underwrite the protests by the loons of the Westboro Baptist Church. It's insulting and ridiculous.

While it looked like law enforcement came out in force on Monday night to help deal with the rioting in Los Angeles, Fox News reported something interesting happening earlier that evening.

Then they reported that people were being given earplugs, gas masks, and water bottles, not to drink but to toss at the cops. A shooter killed at least ten people and wounded many others in an attack at a secondary school in the southern Austrian city of Graz on Tuesday, the city's mayor said.
