I remember seeing the story six years ago and feeling like I’d been punched in the stomach. It seemed to exemplify everything that was going wrong in our country. The bad memory: a psychopath picked up a boy at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota and threw him over a three-story balcony.
