The communist regime of Cuba banned Christians in Havana from celebrating the traditional Solemn Stations of the Cross on Sunday, Cuban outlets reported. “We hereby inform that the Solemn Stations of the Cross announced and prepared by the Vicariate for tomorrow Palm Sunday at 6:00 p.m. from Linea to Lateran has been suspended because the authorities have not approved it,” Cuban priest Lester Rafael Zayas Díaz of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Vedado, Havana, announced on social media over the weekend. Catholics commemorate the Passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ during Holy Week, an observance which will run this year from April 13 (Palm Sunday)

Thomas Steven Sanders, a convicted child murderer whose federal death sentence was commuted by Joe Biden in December 2024 through his autopen, has been indicted for first-degree murder by a Louisiana grand jury.
Sanders was originally sentenced to death in 2014 for the 2010 kidnapping and murder of 12-year-old Lexis Roberts of Las Vegas.
He had taken Lexis and her mother, Suellen Roberts, on a trip to the Grand Canyon, during which he murdered Suellen in Arizona and then brought Lexis to Louisiana, where he killed her in Catahoula Parish.

Norcross, 66, suffered a medical event earlier this month while traveling in North Carolina.
“Norcross was on a flight to New Jersey from Florida last weekend when he began to feel unwell, and the plane was diverted to North Carolina so that the 66-year-old congressman could be hospitalized,” the New Jersey Globe reported.
