For the Evangelical Christians who have given--and still give--overwhelming support to President Trump while refusing to criticize him for language and behavior they would presumably denounce in a fellow church member, here’s an easy one for you. [Snip] White-Cain is soliciting donations before Easter of $1,000 or more to her “ministry.” In exchange she promises “7 specific supernatural blessings.”...None of this is new for White-Cain and other “prosperity gospel” ministers, but the difference is that she associates, advises and presumably has influence over the president of the United States. [Snip] Their “doctrine” seems to be “let us prey.”

Conflicted about posting this observation that struck as an odd coincidence. Paula White-Cain is the White House advisor for the Faith and Opportunity Initiative. She is identified as “an American televangelist, apostolic leader in the Independent Charismatic movement, and proponent of prosperity theology” according to Wikipedia. Taking note of Ms. White-Cain’s hyphenated surname “Cain” and her being a televangelist, and Scripture, contemplates Genesis and the account of brothers, Cain and Abel. In Genesis 4:8 it is revealed that “...Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him.”

What she's doing is what the Catholic Church did hundreds of years ago when they sold indulgencies in a bid to raise money. You could even give money to cover future sins. The person to blame is whoever recommended her for that position at the White House.

A few things:
1. She's a woman.
2. She's a divorced woman.
3. She's not the husband of one wife.
4. Not greedy for filthy lucre.
The requirements haven't changed. Paula is fake in so many ways. The prosperity junk is damaging and destructive. She and others should be ashamed, but they're not.

Thank you, Harlowe, for posting this, and Cal Thomas for writing it.
Let’s all Believers pray that this advisor will be working with Mike Huckabee, our new Ambassador to Israel, who understands the Truth of the Gospel and will lovingly explain it to her.
For Your Glory, LORD.

Another "Health & Wealth Gospel" charlatan, and a female "pastor" to boot; all false concepts on their face.
IMO, Franklin Graham would have been a far better choice for this role.

Donald Trump was not born into the faith like so many of us. He has become a searcher and.is vulnerable to the false "profits" that exist in our Church. You gotta blame the corruption in the church not the misled souls, as did the Lord.

We all have our chinks in our armour. Don't know this lady but have seen multiple rock ribbed preachers surround President Trump laying hands on his shoulders to touch his soul in deep prayer. I think Cal in his quest for piety could pick a better wind mill. .....God Bless America and God Bless President Donald Trump in his quest to save our nation. MAGA.

Donald Trump is smart enough to smell a fraud when exposed to one. Some of the leaders of our biggest megachurches fall into this category, Robert Tilton, Jim & Tammy, Joel Osteen, etc. If they wear expensive clothing, have a trophy wife and a car worth more than your house, they are most likely not in the business for the right reasons.

Paula White is a heretic, and is love to see her removed from that position. That said, Cal used the article able Paula to get in his backhanded jabs at Trump - his language, etc. I may have missed it, but I don't remember seeing Cal criticize that good old Catholic, Joe, for any of his language or his disgusting behavior that certainly might have "been denounced by fellow church members". I'm all for calling out heretics, but don't feign Christ's concern about Trump's Christian character, and use it, if you're not going to be consistent in applying it to others. In other words, he doesn't like Trump, so this was as good a way as any to get in a dig.

I guess Cal would have opposed Samson since he had flaws in his personal life. Most of us recognize Trump has flaws, but God has used flawed men to accomplish His will in the past and He can do it again.

#7,EtAl~ Thank you. Blessings. VDMA
#19~ Indeed, every mortal has flaws in their lives; however, the “flaw” in false prophets/preachers/clergy “using” God for personal gain may be far more serious for that sinner than sinners who are not “teachers” meaning “of the cloth, clergy.” (James 3:1)
Scripture is replete with teachings about greed/money/riches/wealth being used for the wrong reasons. For example, Micah 3:11 teaches: “Its heads give judgment for a bribe; its priests teach for a price; its prophets practice divination for money; yet they lean on the LORD and say, “Is not the LORD in the midst of us? No disaster shall come upon us.”
James 5:1-3 – “Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you. Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days.”
God will not be mocked: 1 Thessalonians 4:6 –“ that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you.”
Whether God is using/ allowing “flawed clergy” to serve His purpose is known to Him and, if so, mortal man may do well to take heed of their heresy to, possibly, separate the wheat from the chaff.
As for Cal Thomas taking this means to criticize President Trump, Cal Thomas and every mortal needs to remember, “Judge not...” (Matthew 7:1)

Richard Pryor did a hilarious takeoff on these money preachers. He was the "Reverend AA White" who said to send the checks to him and not God because "He didn't like to go downtown and show His ID".

The only person who will prosper concerning Paula's scam is Paula herself. Those who donate to her "ministry" aren't going to receive any of those things she promised.
I believe that God has already assigned at least one and maybe two guardian angels to each of us anyway and He heals those it's his will to heal. His healing does not depend on donation amounts to any ministry.
He's currently in the process of judging ministries; hopefully Paula's will come to His attention soon.

Just like with politics, when you introduce money into a religion the religion gets sullied. It should be above all earthly concerns in order to maintain its purity. The second anyone holds his hand out in the name of religion my alarm bells start clanging.

Yes, #1. Considering her actions my first thought was what an appropriate last name. Although Cain knew better, as shown by God’s admonition about sin being at his door for not doing right, Cain disobeyed God by offering to God what pleased himself rather than God. God rejected his disobedient offering, and accepted Abel’s obedient one. Cain became angry and killed his brother, which led to the beginning of a wicked generation of people, and ultimately to the destruction by the flood.
There is nothing biblical about White-Cain’s “promises “, regardless of whether she is acting out of ignorance or an intentional effort to deceive (Paula White-Cain is the White House advisor for the Faith and Opportunity Initiative.).
Either way, with that blasphemous representation of the Holy Scriptures, she should not be in that influential position.
I pray that President Trump sees and recognizes the harm her influence can cause to people, and quickly removes White-Cain from that position.

#27~ Thank you. Appreciate the shared reaction referencing the Biblical account of Cain and Abel and, most assuredly, agree with the hope and need to remove Ms. White-Cain from being a White House advisor not only for the Faith and Opportunity Initiative, but for any and all other potential consultant capacity requirements that may be needed. Further, that any potential replacement be from one of the three traditional denominations of Christianity, excluding the ELCA and nondenominational, and make no apology for that distinction.

Although conflicted about posting this article due to the sensitive nature of religion and religious doctrine and practices, the seriousness of requesting donations and promises by any member of the clergy Is serious in and of itself for that member of the clergy with his/her Creator and may very well be, or should be, a serious concern for this country if permitted to continue from someone in “an advisory role at the White House for Faith and Opportunity Initiative.” What reflection does this convey globally? More importantly, to our Creator? National motto: “In God We Trust”
