It was an eventful week, with the SDNY FBI office apparently defying Attorney General Pam Bondi’s demand that it turn over all its Epstein files to her. Newly confirmed FBI director Kash Patel headed over there to search the premises and interview staff to find out where they are or even if they still exist. The week ended with a blowup of what was supposed to be the signing of an agreement between the Ukraine and the U.S., a preliminary step for opening negotiations with Russia to end the war. How you view the consequences of the blowup seems like an inkblot test:

Guess that's what Mr Z gets for talking with the Traitors and RINO's beforehand and taking their advice...

I thought the Dems had his ear before this debacle and it appears to be the case. Zelensky posted the pictures himself of the table of him sitting across from them just before the Trump meeting. They made sure that he showed us who he is, and from the reports from Rubio, and others what we saw is exactly who he is and how he acts, the attitude on full display for all to see, but of course they blame Trump. Trump stood up for the American people against this little twerp who thinks we should fund him forever and now wants our boots on his ground as well. Thank you President Trump!

Vietnam: beating the drum of 'The Domino Theory', Americans were convinced to invest blood and treasure to fight in a place where we had no real interest. Result: MIC jackpot! Afghanistan, Vietnam 2.0, 2nd verse, same as the first. Result: MIC jackpot! Ukraine, Vietnam 3.0...beware the Evil Russian Bear! Result: MIC jackpot. Wonder where they plan to hold Vietnam 4.0 Greenland, Antarctica? The moon?

FTA - "A clear-eyed, masterful negotiator looked at the field, came up with what he believes is the best available deal for his client (us) and the world and a posturing midget egged on by arrogant armchair warriors failed to grab it. Instead, Zelensky used this opportunity to insult his strongest benefactor and seems stunned to learn that was a stupid move."
Z talked to the wrong people who wanted to blow up this deal. Probably just for the ugly fun of embarrassing President Trump. Another manifestation of TDS? Could be.
This won't end well for Z. When the Ukrainian delegation returns to DC to sign off on the deal, Z won't be coming.

Clarice ended her piece with the way I initially described the situation: Zel found out firsthand what FAFO means. It was a lesson he needed to learn, though I'm not sure he still managed to learn it completely. Time will tell.

Without US help, which is now being withheld, Zelensky's war capability will quickly crumble. Further, if Zelensky wakes up and comes crawling back, he is not going to like the terms, which will be far harsher than they were and likely including Zelensky's resignation. If I were Trump, my belief that Zelensky would abide by any conditions and not try to sabotage things would be close to zero. Maybe Ukraine will kick him out first.
And if I were Trump, I would spot light the group of dems and RINOs that met with Zelensky and place the blame for the recent meeting squarely on them. I would tell Ukraine that further meetings with these people would guarantee failure.

Private apologies from Zelensky should not be accepted. Any apology from Zelensky must come in a public speech by Zelensky before the press or before Congress, in which he acknowledges his stupid reversal of the Trump deal in the Oval Office and specifically identifies the American traitors who encouraged his ignorant, self-defeating behavior. Allowing Ukraine--which shares a considerable border with Russia--to join NATO and thereby obtain security guarantees of weaponry and missiles aimed at the Kremlin, is pure foolishness which would ignite World War III. Someone in the Trump administration, perhaps Rubio, needs to enlighten the American people to this viewpoint. It is appropriate that NATO and the USA stand up to Russia. But it is foolishness to needlessly provoke Russia by further disavowing President George H.W. Bush's promise not to advance NATO "one more inch" toward the Russian boundary.

Clarice continues to do a better job of reporting than the so-called reporters. Tjhis should be read for what has not been mentioned elsewhere. The remarks by the member of the Ukraine parliament, imprisoned by Zelensky for speaking against dictator Zelensky, would bre a good start

Of course my RINO senator Roger Wicker was the head of the traitor's table with Chuck Grassley. I haven't trusted these Mitch followers for a long time. They need a good Trump spanking. Where the hell was Thune?? Did he approve this meeting?

"No one seems to wants to die for the EU in the muddy fields of Ukraine ..."
Which got me to thinking, how many members of the French or Polish portions of the EU would be willing to lay down their lives to defend the German portion of the EU, or citizens of Hungary in defense of Austria, or Greeks of Bulgaria?
When the concept of nationalism was less than 100 years old, this was what the Federal government asked one of the most loyal men ever, Robert E. Lee. Lee is almost always castigated for placing his loyalty for Virginia about that of his loyalty to the Union.
What is going to happen when the EU tests the loyalties of the citizens of its constituent nations? I don't think the EU is strong enough to ask that question now, and Ukraine is not their hill to die on.
