A few weeks ago, former Senator Benn Sasse quit his job as President at University of Florida. The claimed reason given by Sasse was to care for his wife who has epilepsy, but the timing of things now looks very sketchy. The FBI arrested Washington, DC, Council member Trayon White Sr. on Sunday on charges that have not yet been made clear.
The council’s chairman and two other sources confirmed the arrest to the Washington Post on Sunday. Per the report:
Council Chairman Phil Mendelson (D) said the arrest occurred about 2 p.m. He said he was previously unaware that White was under investigation.
White, a Democrat who was first elected in 2016, represents Ward 8 in Southeast Washington.

Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are making stops in western Pennsylvania on their bus tour ahead of the DNC convention in Chicago, which begins on Monday.

Planned Parenthood Great Rivers announced it was bringing its mobile health clinic to Chicago and offering free services to those who signed up on August 19 and 20, which are the first two days of the convention.
Before the clinic even arrived, they announced that all of the appointments had been filled and that they would follow up if they had cancelations but the move sparked an avalanche of criticism online.
