The campaign is showcasing a conspicuous shift in tone and strategy: Projecting an image of positivity and joy. It appears the media has already gotten the memo and is actively helping to brand the Harris/Walz campaign as “happy warriors” fighting for the American people. It’s an interesting approach, but will it be enough to secure a victory for Harris? When Harris announced Walz as her running mate in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the two candidates adopted a more positive messaging approach. “We are joyful warriors,” Harris declared to raucous applause

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin is ordering all votes for the 2024 presidential election to be cast by paper ballot.
Youngkin issued Executive Order 35 on Wednesday, which codifies election security protocols established under his governance for all future elections.
"The Virginia model for Election Security works. This isn't a Democrat or Republican issue, it's an American and Virginian issue," Youngkin said in an announcement. "Every legal vote deserves to be counted without being watered down by illegal votes or inaccurate machines. In Virginia, we don’t play games and our model for election security is working."

Kamala Harris held a rally in Detroit Wednesday in which she once again trotted out some kind of weird accent that she somehow thinks honors the locale (but which is actually insulting), and she once again had to provide a free concert to get folks to show up. But there was something different about this rally - that's the completely FUBAR'd logistical situation as the rally-goers tried to get back home. The chaotic scene perfectly encapsulates what America would be like under a Harris presidency: a complete lack of organization/accountability/sense in government, resulting in tired, hungry, and angry masses of people simply trying to escape.

Those ideas are also clearly aimed at finding inroads into traditional Democrat constituencies. A proposal to end taxes on tips has a lot of appeal for low-income servers, who are likely younger voters, and both are key demos for Kamala Harris and other Democrats. It didn't woo the culinary union leaders, but it might appeal to their members.

What the Democrats needed was a Heartland of America guy, someone folksy and grounded to balance Kinda Acting President Kamala Harris's "California Glib" demeanor. He'd have to be from the Midwest or Appalachia, of course, and ideally a hunter.
He should have a moderate record, or at least one the press could go along with making it look moderate. And I keep writing "he" because the Democrats weren't going to run an all-woman ticket, assuming they could define "woman." And he couldn't be Jewish. Harris couldn't afford to even let an opener anywhere near that can of worms.
