Donald Trump told a crowd of delighted Texas fans that he wants to move to and retire in the Lone Star State as he continued his love affair with the South.
Speaking to an adoring crowd at the NRA National Convention, the former president said: 'I want to move to Texas and I want to retire in Texas...a lot of people are moving to Texas.'
Trump made the comments after receiving the endorsement of the National Rifle Association in Dallas on Saturday. While it's unclear if Trump's declaration was serious, he has visited the southern state 18 times while he was in office,

This may be a step intended to enable him to pick a running mate from Glorida . Recall that in 2000 both Bush and Cheney were Texas residents. Before he was picked for VP Cheney reestablished his Wyoming residency.

North Texas would be a great place for the PDT Presidential Library.
Lots of room...for a golf course, apartments, shopping centers, convention center, hotels, motels, camp grounds, many restaurants, The Library, and lots of freedom stuff.
(Remember what Orlando was like 50 years ago?)

I hope he comes to Texas, and deports all the illegals. Take our country back. Our schools, hospitals, medical centers, highways, grocery stores.

In 2029, Mr. President, any chance for western Colorado, sir? It is Trumpsville out here, you know. I'm happy to show you around. Some rather smart estate-like properties out here that are fitting for a post two-term President. Ok, we understand, Mr. President. We get it. It's a bit red-necky out here. But maybe the Ridgway and Ouray areas would work. The most beautiful place on earth.
At least think about it, Mr. President. Mesa County would welcome you with open arms. Delta, Montrose, and Ouray Counties would, too.

Trump may be serious, or he may be just pleasing the local crowd (He is a real-estate guy, after all), but either way it sounds good.
I recall a Beach Boys concert in Biloxi, a good many years ago. They were singing 'California Girls', but in the last refrain, they changed it to "I wish they all could be Mississippi girls".
The place erupted in applause.

FTA: 'Trump famously ditched New York during his presidency, switching to his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, which is also a tax haven.' A more accurate statement would be 'Trump famously ditched NY due to confiscatory taxation and poor value for that money with rampant crime and government not providing services to the public.'

When I was in the Navy stationed in California I decided to go back home to West Virginia for a few weeks' vacation. I took Amtrack and it was a 6-day round trip. We wound up going through Texas and even out of my cabin window the sights were spectacular. The viewing car view was much better. It was an experience, and it was cheaper and safer to travel as this was the early to mid 90s. I can see PDJT living on a large ranch after he's done living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
