When trying to defend the indefensible, sometimes it’s better to say, I have no excuse. LSU coach Kim Mulkey is probably telling herself that right now.
In the postgame press conference following her team’s 94-87 defeat at the hands of rival Iowa, Mulkey was asked why her team was not on the floor for the national anthem prior to their highly-anticipated Elite Eight tilt against the Hawkeyes. (X Video) Mulkey’s answer, while it seems truthful, did not improve the situation.

If I was president of LSU, I'd disband the team and fire the coach. That might be a good message to send to their other teams as well!

How far Breitbart has fallen, referencing a half-dozen X users to make a point. And move Kim Mulky to the "all-around unlikeable people" file.

New standard practice in America…you leave the floor or kneel or show any disrespect for America, you forfeit this game! First offese! 2nd, forfeit this and the next game! 3rd time, death sentence for your school! No more sports and no more tax dollars…

“Honestly, I don’t even know when the anthem was played…”, LSU coach.
Sounds like —
Carville defending Biden’s proclamation for a transgender day of visibility falling on Easter. He says he doesn’t think that “anybody in the White House was aware of” the overlap between Transgender Day of Visibility and Easter.
The nonchalance of the fact that the LSU coach & team showed complete disregard & disrespect for the the USA, and Biden & the WH showed complete disregard & disrespect for Who & What was being honored on Easter is an in your face act of “what’re you gonna do about it?” hubris.
How long are WTP going to continue to simply express momentary outrage at the outrageous and continue to allow it to happen? It’s past time for the majority to make some demands of our own and quit accepting these anti-America, anti-God actions that are transforming our country into a godless spiritual harlot and destroying it. If we don’t stand for what is right, then wrong will continue to prevail. Right has the power of the Righteous God on its side. The blessings of that power are only ours as long as we honor and utilize it.

LSU basketball was recently called Dirty Debutantes in an LA Times column. The coach seems to be trying to live up to that name.

As someone who notices patterns, the coincidence of her demanding and getting an apology from the LA Times the day before regarding the "dirty debutants" article....leaves me wondering if the press was gunning for her.

Duh. It's always played before the start of the game.

Good point by someone--their "routine" is designed for the team to not be on the court during the National Anthem. The timing of the playing occurred just like it does everywhere--just before tip off.

Did she have the same routine at Baylor?
Maybe she wanted to avoid any overt protesting by keeping the usual suspects cloistered?

What LSU has is a coach who is flakey, ineffective, and has no control over her team. The disrespect for their country that they blatantly show impresses no one. They’re disgusting. I’m glad they lost. They deserved to.

Maybe ya'll should get all the facts. Who decided to start the National Anthem without both teams being present? Was LSU ever advised of the schedule?
It turns out that on Monday night, two of the teams also missed the National Anthem. It looks like a planning issue.
Once again, a so called sports writer, cannot get the facts correct.
