Another little "gift" from Joe Biden's Chinese masters? Watch for it to be shot down, AFTER it has completed its mission.

Probably another “Project Loon” balloon (they Used to belong to Google, now under contract to the Department of Defense, for domestic spying.)
For a change they seem to have turned the transponder off, so it can’t be tracked by the more common ASD-B systems. Most of the “Chinese spy balloons’ that have occasionally gotten everyone excited every few months for the last year are actually ‘Loon’ balloons under control of US-DOD.
I wish I had a Skyglass account.

THEY probably have more information available, they don’t rely on only transponders like the ADS-B trackers do..

It should have been taken down immediately before it reached the interior of the US.

What bothers me is that no "US officials" (how vague is that?) are curious as to what the balloon carries and what its purpose is.
I say shoot it down and see who complains..

I am with #12. It may be something completely harmless but just shoot it down and figure out its purpose later. It may just be a stray high school science experiment but it shouldn’t be there. If so, no harm, no foul.

Not of concern is what they said about the last ufo. By the way, is Lloyd Austin out of the hospital yet?
I wonder if those suburban women are feeling secure these days.

Well, China has to start planning how to use all the military-aged men they are shipping over our borders. When the SHTF, I hope all the dem enablers are still alive--they all need to be tried for treason.

They just want to spy around a little, what's wrong with that? Who is going to stop them, whoever that is. Bidet??? He just had his ice-cream, changed his diapers and is taking a nap before he is having sex with his dame. That balloon can wait even if is detonates something, who cares. His staff is busy writing a cheat sheet. What a country we have become.

While reading "Military aircraft have determined that it is not a threat, according to the outlet, but the purpose of the balloon is unclear.", my mind jumped back a few years to reports of Democrat IT expert Seth Rich's murder.
"It was a Robbery Gone Wrong. They did not take his watch, wallet, or Iphone, and we don't know who killed him, but we KNOW it was a Robbery Gone Wrong".
.... and after that NOT A SINGLE WORD was said, and the Media did NOT ask a SINGLE QUESTION.

Exactly HOW does the military know it's not a threat? Because Joey told them to say so? How much money is Joey getting for the balloon?

The guy who has thrown open our border has no intention of protecting this country. A spy balloon is of no interest to him. Biden is not concerned in the least about Chinese spy balloons or Chinese spies or military aged men coming across our border. It makes me wonder what the response of the American people will be when something devastating happens because of Joe’s neglect of his Constitutional oath of office to protect and defend the country. Will the outrage be of such magnitude that he will be forced to resign? Or will we take the tragedy in stride and grumble amongst ourselves without demanding accountability for Joe and his anti-American cabal. We have foolishly remained too quiet about everything that the democrats have done since January 2021, and now we reap the whirlwind. Americans are being set up for a terrible loss by an illegitimate administration that has no business in power. They did not win and they usurped the power of we the people to create this nightmare dystopia that we find ourselves in today. Had we known what awaited us, would we have fought harder after November 3, 2020? Hindsight, I know, but it is a bittersweet pill to swallow now. We have just put off the inevitable and now face an even more formidable enemy. Woulda, shoulda, coulda…

In the 1950's there was a concern about a bomber gap, as the Eisenhower administration was accused of letting Russia achieve military superiority. Today I guess there is a balloon gap. Very interesting.

Shoot it down over the Pacific before it enters US airspace.
And then nuke China off the face of the earth.
