Donald Trump's attempt to be reinstated on the ballot in Colorado could hinge on interpretations of the Constitution made in the immediate aftermath of the Civil War, legal experts believe.
Trump was declared ineligible to appear on the Colorado ballot on December 19.
The decision marked the first time in history that Section 3 of the 14th Amendment has been used to disqualify a presidential candidate, and the U.S. Supreme Court on January 5 agreed to hear Trump's appeal against the Colorado Supreme Court's decision.

The Roberts Supreme Court is a crapshoot with 4 women and a sissy boy making the decisions.

Well, IF we follow the law (not a given), this foolishness should be laughed out of court.
SCOTUS: Was Mr Trump charged and convicted under any "insurrection " laws by a court or congressional impeachment process?
Colo Lawyer: Well, no. But we think he should have been.
SCOTUS: Where did you get your bar license? A Cracker Jack box? Case dismissed. Next case.

Trump has never been convicted of insurrection, that's the only thing SCOTUS even needs to consider. Moreover, Trump was impeached over Jan. 6 and the senate did not find him guilty. So, why don't these talking heads ever cite there is no crime.

This article is BS. Trump has not been convicted of anything, and therefore, there is no basis to remove him from any state's ballot. However, if the SC commits election year suicide, then expect red states to remove Biden from their ballots as well. We could easily have an election whereby both main candidates are off the ballot in half the states in the union. The SC had better get their act together on this and fast!

DM crap. I won't read the opinions of Brits on American politics. We tossed their butts out 250+ years ago, for GOOD REASONS.

In my fantasy world, SCOTUS rules 9-0 in favor of Trump and berates Colorado for wasting the court's time with political hit jobs.

He hasn't been charged or convicted of sedition. In fact none of the J6ers have been charged with much of anything beyond trespassing.
This plan will not be accepted by the American People. Such idiocies is how Civil War starts!

The Supremes are just looking for a nice clean legal way to deny the attempts to remove Trump from the ballot. The fact that it makes sense can't be used because that's the Dems usual approach. Adjudication by "feelings". If states can remove Trump they can also remove Biden. It will work a little like the electoral college, state by state. Then it's up to each state's legislature.

The Supreme Court no longer matters. If Donald Trump is not on the ballot there is going to be a huge camp surrounding Washington that will make January 6th look like a church picnic.

Setting a precedent? Last presidential election the Supreme Joke wouldn't dirty its hands.
Didn't want to rile the populace, or some such excuse.
