In the era of great pretending this letter ranks at the top of the 2023 hubris scale. Having attained her position using ballot manipulation and collection, the fraudulently installed AG in Arizona, Attorney General Kris Mayes, is threatening to arrest anyone who does a hand recount of ballots in Mohave County. Several House Republicans called for establishing a new House investigation of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol breach after new security footage was released.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-Ga.) wrote that the release of the new tapes is "not enough" and that there needs to be a probe for the "lies, deceit, and lives ruined."
The lawmaker then called on House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) to create a new select committee. She criticized the previous Congress's Jan. 6 panel that was chaired by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) and former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.).

Republicans on Saturday swept three statewide runoff elections in Louisiana, securing wins in the races for attorney general, secretary of state, and treasurer.
The three victories mean that Republicans secured every statewide elected office for the first time since 2015, the year Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards won the first of his two terms in office. Mr. Edwards’ successor is Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, a Republican who won outright in October and avoided a runoff.
On Nov. 18, Liz Murrill was elected as attorney general and Nancy Landry was elected as secretary of state, becoming the first women to hold their positions in the state. John Fleming was elected as treasurer.

FORT DODGE, Iowa–Hours before former President Donald Trump took the stage here, his campaign sent out a text message declaring his intent: "I'm in Iowa today to wrap up the primary."
Speaking to a full house of about 3,000 people at the Fort Dodge Senior High School gymnasium on Nov. 18, the former president reminded folks that the Hawkeye State's first-in-nation caucuses were just 58 days away. "All over the world, they're going to be watching this," he said, adding, "We want to make sure we have a big victory."

President Joe Biden met Chinese dictator Xi Jinping for high-level talks in California on Wednesday, marking the first time the two leaders have spoken face-to-face in a year.
While specific details of the conversation will assuredly remain under wraps, a White House readout of the discussion indicates that Biden and Xi covered a variety of hot-button issues, including Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Israel’s defense against Hamas terrorists in the Middle East, and Taiwan. The two leaders also agreed to revive communications between the U.S. and Chinese militaries.

The inevitable occurred last weekend when Pope Francis ousted Bishop Joseph Strickland from his Diocese of Tyler, Texas for reasons not yet provided, after “an exhaustive inquiry into all aspects of the governance and leadership of the diocese” was initiated back in June.
(snip)It just so happens that Strickland received the June 24 “apostolic visitation” days after he returned from leading a prayer procession in response to the honoring of a blasphemous, anti-Catholic hate group, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, on the Dodgers’ 10th annual “Pride Night,” a date which coincided with the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Vatican’s timing in all of this was,

Everything happening in/around the courtroom of Judge Engoron in New York City has been ridiculous in the extreme.
Even left leaning pundits and political commentators have begun to retreat from the fevered pace of the NY civil case because they can see the appeals court intervening.
Earlier today appellate judge David Friedman finally intervened in the insufferable gag order and put some common sense back into the case putting a stay on the lower court order.

New Hampshire is made up of two generally strong dispositions inside the republican apparatus. This is a similar state operation to the Wisconsin structure of corporate club republicanism. Wisconsin and New Hampshire GOPe are very similar to each other. [POLLING DATA]
In New Hampshire you have the traditional control apparatus (Bush group) and the voting base of republicans (TP/MAGA centric), the two groups are deadlocked in a battle for control. Essentially, the party apparatus vs the will of the people. In 2016 using the ground organization of Corey Lewandowski, the Trump team was able to overwhelm the club apparatus in New Hampshire

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) released security footage from the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riots to the public on Friday.
Johnson took to X, formerly Twitter, and shared a link to a House website containing five pages of videos with roughly 20 videos per page.
“Today, I am keeping my promise to the American people and making all the January 6th tapes available to ALL Americans,” Johnson tweeted moments before releasing the CCTV tapes.
“To restore America’s trust and faith in their Government we must have transparency. This is another step towards keeping the promises I made when I was elected to be your Speaker,” he wrote in another post.

The process of auto-beatification among the educated in the West seems more prevalent than ever. Possessed, as they believe, of knowledge, wisdom, and generosity, they believe also that they are the conscience of society who therefore ought rightly play a directing role in it. They have what Thomas Sowell, the great American economist and social theorist, calls “the vision of the anointed,” derogation from which would be a sign of moral and intellectual weakness. For them, all desiderata are reconcilable, and the world can be made not only just, but fair. Perhaps not coincidentally, the cost of all this will be borne by others.

As Netflix launches its final season of “The Crown,” focusing on Princess Diana, her boyfriend Dodi Fayed, and his billionaire father, Mohamed Al-Fayed, many viewers will be retold the story of Diana’s shocking death through TV news flashes. Personally, I remember getting the news in a phone call from the White House.
When Diana and Dodi were killed in Paris, I was working at the American Embassy there. A career FBI agent, I was assigned to Paris as the legal attaché, meaning I was the U.S. government’s official liaison with French law enforcement. Later, my private work as a consultant would draw me more deeply into the investigation of the tragedy.

New York Appellate Division Associate Justice David Friedman temporarily lifted a gag order on former President Donald Trump from the bench on Nov. 16 while the former president appeals the order.
"Considering the constitutional and statutory rights at issue an interim stay is granted," the justice wrote.
The gag order was originally issued by New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron, who's presiding over a civil bench trial regarding alleged fraud by The Trump Organization. This week, the defense filed a motion to declare a mistrial.
