There's a Major Problem With Ramaswamy's
Defense of Soros Scholarship

Original Article

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has defended a Soros scholarship he accepted, claiming it came at a time when he “didn’t have the money” to pay for Yale Law School. But there is one problem with that argument. According to reports, the entrepreneur was already a multi-millionaire when he took it. "There was a separate scholarship that I won at the age of 24-25, when I was going to law school in my mid-20s, in my early 20s, when I didn't have the money and it was a merit scholarship that hundreds of kids win, that was partially funded, not by George Soros, but by Paul Soros a relative,

Comments:

I don’t trust him. He paid a Wikipedia editor to scrub this Soros connection from his bio page. If it was OK why do that? In law, isnt’ that “consciousness of guilt”? My rather odd reaction when I first heard him speak? “He’s too shiny…”

Some things I don't like about Ramaswamy is he said he would cut aid to Israel and give more to her Arab neighbors, he would abolish the DOJ, FBI, ATF, and IRS. Sorry, those all need some major reform, but you don't abolish them. He previously trashed Trump over claims of election fraud, but after running for president he's gushing over Trump. During the debate he mentioned faith in God. He's a Hindu; he only said that to cater to the Christian base. He says what he thinks the far right base wants to hear.

In politics, people with logs in their eyes often obsess over the motes in their opponent's eyes. Conversely, if voters really like someone, they can be PDQ to overlook similar or worse flaws in their chosen one, while boldly skywrighting the perceived flaws of those whom they despise. That makes representative democracy more of an art than a science and when it gets really messy, certain people's inner totalitarian thuggery surfaces to the extent we see in democrats, where they justify taking out a popular candidate by hook or crook, because they are so much smarter, better informed, than the voting rabble who dares think otherwise.

Vivek is a fast talking charmer who says all the right things. Is he too good to be true? Possibly. My gut says to be wary of him and I am. I will withhold judgment but there is something about him that gives me pause. It could be his youth and inexperience. Maybe he needs more seasoning before he jumps in the big leagues. He needs to prove himself and that takes time.

I have not formed a solid opinion on Vivek but am inclined to see him marketing himself as a junior Trump, allowing him to run for the highest office in the land with no elected governing, military, or legislative experience, as Trump did. Trump was well known enough to pull it off due to his decades as a NYC establishment billionaire and TV personality background. Vivek came out of nowhere and his praise of Trump rings a little hollow; however, the lad appears sharp enough to warrant consideration for a position within a second Trump administration, if that is to be, which may be his realistic objective, along the way to his currently unrealistic goal of being Mister Big. He doesn't appear ready for even a VP role, but maybe something within DHS might suit him, like head of CBP.

Ramaswamy reminds me of another Presidential candidate. Back in 1976 Sargent Shriver, a member by marriage of the Kennedy clan, ran for President. It was a short lived run but he seemed to be a happy-go-lucky, glad-handing friendly sort and despite his gold-plated education he was eager to seem a friend of the common man. At one point Shriver entered a steel worker’s bar in Youngstown, Ohio where he went through his hail-fellow-well met routine with working men. After a bit of his he exclaimed, “You guys are great! A round of beers for everyone…..and a Courvoisier for me!” It is easy to like the persona Ramaswamy presents publicly but were he to become President I just have an awful feeling about him. He strikes me as very smart, yes, but also as too friendly, too smiley, too confident and the sort of fast talking Ivy League grad who has little in common with the average person and likes it that way. His bio makes him a coastal elite. His rapper act makes him seem silly and immature. His Soros connections make him untrustworthy, even radioactive. I fear his presidency would be full of unpleasant surprises.

Never in a million years would I accept Vivek as the republican candidate in the presidential election over Trump. However, I would take him over every other candidate, save DeSantis, should that become my only choice. Does anyone think that his Hinduism (if, indeed, he remains in that cult) is worse than the alleged Christianity of Obama, whose church preached not Christianity, but black racist cant or the massive hypocrisy of Bill and Hillary Clinton? Did his acceptance of a scholarship from the brother of George Soros--not George himself-- really disqualify him from being sincere in what he now professes? Does that fact that I took a paycheck from Raytheon or Pfizer at some time in my past mean I am a member of the military-industrial complex or the "Big Pharma" cabal? Really? Think about it.

I'm still trying to figure him out. While he is very bright, young, and sure has the businessman schtick, he doesn't strike me as presidential. It's too hard to tell yet if he is/would become a DC insider. If a corrupt DC establishment finds it cannot control him, he would get the Trump treatment. His story about receiving the Soros money is strange. If he already had significant wealth, why would he push aside his self-made principles for a handout he didn't need especially from a Soros-funded foundation. And why try to scrub this matter from the public domain if it was on the up and up. He could have a future in politics, but in today's Amerika I wonder if he could handle the jackals in DC.

I had to apply for my NROTC scholarship. It wasn't given or awarded to me. It was a competition. And I knew exactly where the money came from - thank you taxpayers. Was this (Paul) Soros scholarship awarded based on merit? Did Vivek have to apply or did he just win because of academic achievement? As for foreign aid - if you're going to reduce or end aid to Israel then stop ALL foreign aid. Between the billions in aid that we have given (for what exactly in return?) to countries - with Israel being the exception as I think they do a lot of dirty work for us, what has the US gotten for all this money? And we all give billions to NGOs and the Peace Corps is still in existence. Talk about a quaint idea that needs to be ended - it's the Peace Corps. As for eliminating the FBI, etc - Yes, I agree - end them. They are beyond reform. See: https://amgreatness.com/2023/06/21/if-you-work-for-the-fbi-quit-your-job/

Vivek is a "Master deBater" but that's about it. Politics involves debate, but is more than that alone. What do you do when your enemies aren't interested in appearing on a global stage for a debate, moderated by Klaus Schwab and George Soros? What do you do when your enemies don't speak English but rather respond with nuclear-tipped cruise missiles, or ICBMs? Being Mr. Silver-tongue means nothing at that moment, and we'll all go down due to a one-trick-pony leader

Vivek does not understand the Judeo/Christian foundation of our country with his desire of reducing/eliminating financial aid to Israel. Israel is the birthplace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We have ties to Israel spiritually like no other nation. Our bible tells us if we bless Israel, God will bless us. if we curse Israel, God will curse us. As a Hindu, Vivek should see the ties we have with Israel since its birth. Apparently, he doesn't. That gives us pause and makes us question his other positions.

That is honest. That is true, and that is credible.” Ramaswamy told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt. That does it! Vivek would throw Taiwan to the wolves, China, if he became president. That settles it. We, at our house, will never vote for this charismatic Hindu even though he may sound like Trump on many issues. It's not hard to understand why so many Republicans admire Ronald Reagan. "The Great Communicator" sparked a conservative revival that fractured the remnants of the left-wing New Deal coalition. As president, he helped end the Soviet Union, winning the Cold War. Forty-three years after the Reagan Revolution, and eight years after former President Donald J. Trump changed the game again, none of the Republicans who convened for the first presidential primary debate on Aug. 23 repudiated President Reagan. Even President Trump cited a move by President Reagan as precedent for his decision to skip the debate.

A majority of priests of the Church of England want the church to offer same-sex weddings and allow premarital and gay sex, according to a major survey. The survey, conducted by the Times, found most Anglican priests think church teaching should be brought into line with public opinion on moral issues. Most priests support a change to allow gay couples to get married in church, with 53.4 percent in favor and 36.5 percent opposed, revealed the survey, which assessed responses from 1,200 active Anglican priests. The Church of England currently allows blessings for gay couples but only permits church weddings between a man and a woman.

When the corporate media asked the IRS why it needed automatic weapons, millions of rounds of ammunition and heavily armed staffers trained in the “use of force,” they said it was for “administrative reasons.” But we now know that the globalists are not just arming the IRS, along with just about every other federal agency. They are militarizing these agencies to the hilt with military-grade weapons not available to American citizens.

In recent years, auto thefts and carjackings have become ordinary events in the streets of Chicago, often occurring in the middle of the day and sometimes being live-streamed on social media as they occur. Last year, Chicago reported more than 21,000 vehicle thefts. In 2021, the number was “only” 14,000. Unfortunately, things are getting much worse. As of this writing, Chicago has experienced more than 20,000 vehicle thefts, with nearly four months before the year ends. But worry not, my fellow Chicagoans, Mayor Brandon Johnson has a plan that is sure to solve the problem: He is suing two automakers, Kia and Hyundai,

enate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell froze up again during a press conference Wednesday afternoon, marking the second such incident in just over a month. During the press conference in Kentucky, McConnell failed to respond after a reporter asked him his thoughts on “running for reelection in 2026.” The senator, who took office in 1985, attempted to mumble something before falling silent. After around 10 seconds of silence, an aide approached McConnell and asked if he’d heard the question. McConnell appeared to whisper “Yes” in response before falling silent again.

President Joe Biden said Wednesday that it is impossible to deny the impact of climate change after Hurricane Idalia smashed into Florida and forced millions of residents to flee their homes. Idalia's torrential rain and threats of flash flooding moved through Georgia during the afternoon as emergency services in Florida battled the impact of a powerful storm surge. Coming so soon after deadly wildfires in Maui, Biden said it was a reminder of an unfolding global disaster. 'I don't think anybody can deny the impact of a climate crisis anymore,' he said at the White House. 'Just look around: Historic floods, I mean, historic floods; more intense droughts; extreme heat;

Unnamed Republican lawmakers allegedly fear “there’s no evidence” of wrongdoing against President Joe Biden to open an impeachment inquiry, Politico Playbook claimed Wednesday. Politico, which continually works to suppress the Biden family business scandal, wrote an article in its morning newsletter that suggested some Republicans are concerned about the lack of evidence against Joe Biden to open an impeachment inquiry. The publication did not cite any particular lawmakers, claiming only that they were “moderate Republicans in Biden-won districts.” Republican lawmakers are “privately fretting that there’s no evidence to back up their conservative colleagues’ accusations that the president benefited from his son’s swampy gigs,” Politico wrote.

A massive emergency alert test will reportedly sound alarms on all U.S. cellphones, television sets, and radios in October, in the wake of the deadly wildfires on the Hawaiian island of Maui. On October 4, every cellphone, TV, and radio in the United States will blast a warning tone of an emergency alert, in order to ensure that the nation’s Emergency Alert system is working correctly in the event of a national disaster or attack, according to a report by USA Today. The emergency alert will most likely read, “This is a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System, issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, covering the United States

Unmentioned in the ACLU’s lawsuit demanding that taxpayers foot the bill for a prison inmate’s gender transition surgery is that its plaintiff — a man named Jonathan Richardson who now goes by Autumn Cordellioné — is behind bars for murdering an 11-month-old baby. On Monday, the ACLU’s Indiana branch filed a federal lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana on behalf of Richardson, demanding he be allowed to get transgender genital surgery while imprisoned. The lawsuit gives almost no biographical information about Richardson, aside from that he is an “adult transgender female prisoner confined in a male institution within the Indiana Department of Correction.”

On Monday, US District Judge Tanya Chutkan set a March 4 start date for former President Donald Trump’s federal criminal trial on charges of conspiring to overturn the 2020 election. “The public has a right to a prompt and efficient resolution of this matter,” Chutkan said.... Most obviously, with Trump as the current leading contender for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, Americans deserve to know before they vote in the general election if a jury of his peers finds him innocent or guilty of having tried to end the lawful transition of power after the 2020 election.

After going off-script to declare that Vladimir Putin “cannot remain in power” during a March speech in Warsaw, Joe Biden fumed that his aides had infantilized him by walking back his comments, according to an excerpt of a new book released Wednesday. “Biden instantly knew that the White House would have to clarify his mistake. By the time Biden piled into the motorcade. His aides had released a statement walking back his sentence,” Franklin Foer writes in his forthcoming biography of Biden’s first term in the White House, The Last Politician, excerpted in Axios. “Biden left for home, ending his triumphalist tour, feeling sorry for himself,”
