Florida governor Ron DeSantis has accepted California governor Gavin Newsom‘s challenge to debate.
The back-and-forth between the two governors began in June, when Fox News’ Sean Hannity asked Newsom if he would be willing to debate DeSantis.
“I’m all in. Count on it,” the California governor said.
“You would do a two-hour debate with Ron DeSantis?” Hannity replied.
“Make it three,” Newsom said.
On Wednesday evening, Hannity reiterated his proposal: “I floated the idea of a policy-based debate, you know, red vs. blue, red state vs. blue state, between Gavin Newsom and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.”

Florida officials said Wednesday that nearly 40% of the people arrested in one part of the state in a recent operation cracking down on child sex exploitation were in the U.S. illegally — amid continued concerns from Republicans about criminals and sex offenders coming in across the southern border.
Officials said that seven out of 19 people arrested in Bay County, Florida, were in the country illegally. Five have no record showing lawful entry into the U.S. One man was admitted on a B-2 visitors visa that expired in 2021, and another was admitted on a J-1 student visa that also expired in 2021.

Illegal border crossings surged in July despite the sweltering heat, defying a historical pattern which holds that migrant apprehensions typically decrease in the summer.
Border patrol arrested over 130,000 individuals seeking illegal entry into the U.S. in July, compared to 99,545 in June, according to preliminary U.S. Customs and Border Protection data obtained by the Washington Post.
The uptick in migrant apprehensions was most noticeable in southern Arizona, temperatures reaching above 110 degrees in the region for much of the last month. In the Tucson sector alone, border patrol agents arrested around 40,000 illegal immigrants,

Once again, the political world has been engulfed by another indictment of Donald Trump, this time surrounding his alleged actions involving January 6th.
The details include four different counts, including two counts of conspiracy and two counts of obstruction. Those four counts break down specifically to Trump allegedly attempting to obstruct an official proceeding, which has to do with January 6th, while the conspiracy charges appear to center on the supposed alternate electors scheme.
Obviously, arguments about selective prosecution and weaponization of the DOJ will be at the forefront for political circles, but even on legal grounds, this indictment appears to be far weaker

The Biden Administration has clearly given up on the idea that the federal government exists to do anything but satisfy Joe Biden’s whims.
So why not get it over with? Throw Donald Trump in jail without due process, construct reeducation camps, and rename the FBI the Stasi?
In less than 1 week the administration has shredded the already tattered reputation of the Justice Department.
Last Wednesday a US Attorney tried to convince a judge to give what amounted to a plenary pardon to Hunter Biden for all crimes he had committed in the past.
On Thursday Donald Trump was indicted yet again.

FIRST ON FOX – The Florida district that governs the iconic Walt Disney World theme park and resort announced Tuesday it is abolishing all of its diversity, equity and inclusion programs and race-based hiring practices. Glenton Gilzean, director of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District – a unique governing body that dictates economic, tax and other policies for the nearly 25,000-acre theme park – said the change is a reversal of the Disney-appointed Reedy Creek Improvement District polices.
"The so-called diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives were advanced during the tenure of the previous board and they were illegal and simply unAmerican," said Gilzean.

So President Trump is not even allowed to have an opinion about whether the 2020 election was free or fair? And those blocked windows in the vote-counting office in Detroit and those rolled-out suitcases in Atlanta after the election observers were forced from the room, and that truck driver who was told to take his ballot boxes from state to state, just never happened? And that Zuckerbucks, state-sponsored Twitter censorship, and the "conspiracy" to save America never happened either? And all was free and fair, tor here comes the prosecutor to set you right is how things are done now?
That's all one can conclude now

As we reported earlier, Special Counsel Jack Smith dropped another indictment on former President Donald Trump, charging him with three counts of conspiracy and one count of obstruction on Tuesday.
At this point, it’s getting a little ridiculous and frankly, transparent, as to how hard the Biden administration seems to be working to try to take Trump out of the race with lawfare and indictments.
Fox News’ Bret Baier shared how Republicans are describing the indictment for what it is: Democrats looking at a box of chocolates, trying to figure out what was the best box of chocolates to “prevent him from becoming president again.” That’s hitting the nail

Former President Donald Trump would be treated like anyone else if he is charged in Georgia, Fulton County Sheriff Patrick Labat declared on Tuesday.
"Unless someone tells me differently, we are following our normal practices," Labat told reporters. "It doesn't matter your status, we have mugshots ready for you."
Labat's comments underline the intense public interest in the possible mugshot of a former president, a photo that historians previously predicted would quickly become one of the most famous images in recent memory. Trump's own campaign created a fake mugshot after he was arraigned in New York for an alleged hush money scheme.

An advisor to Rudy Giuliani, the former attorney for Donald Trump who helped the former president try to overturn the 2020 election results, said Tuesday night that the latest Trump indictment “eviscerates the First Amendment” and is an attempt to criminalize “the ruling regime’s number one political opponent.”
Ted Goodman, a political adviser and spokesman for Giuliani, also said the facts his client possesses establish “the good faith basis” Trump had for his post-election actions.
Giuliani, the former New York mayor who became one of Trump’s leading political allies, appears to be the unnamed co-conspirator 1 mentioned in the indictment. There are six unnamed alleged co-conspirators

Fitch Ratings on Tuesday downgraded America’s long-term foreign-currency-issuer default rating, citing ongoing and projected future fiscal instability, an increasingly long and disruptive governance process, and rising debt and deficits.
The tumultuous negotiations and gridlock between Republicans and Democrats in June over raising the debt ceiling were evidence that “there has been a steady deterioration in standards of governance over the last 20 years,” Fitch, one of the “big three” U.S. credit-ratings agencies alongside S&P and Moody’s, said in a statement. That episode put the U.S. at risk of payment default

The historic indictment against Donald Trump in the special counsel’s probe into January 6, 2021, and efforts to overturn the 2020 election says that he “enlisted co-conspirators to assist him in his criminal efforts.”
The charging documents repeatedly reference six of these co-conspirators, but as is common practice, their identities are withheld because they have not been charged with any crimes.
CNN, however, can identify five of the six co-conspirators based on quotes in the indictment and other context. They include:
Co-Conspirator 1 is former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani.
