Lisa Murkowski is the perfect mascot for Senate Republicans. She is a Democrat in all but name, an aristocrat who inherited her office, and a beneficiary of rigged elections. She has more in common with Nancy Pelosi than the average Republican voter, and every time Alaskan Republicans attempt to throw her out of office, Mitch McConnell's minions manipulate the rules to save her. For McConnell, Murkowski is another beholden senator kept securely in his pocket who will vote how he wants on any given day.

This problem belongs to the RNC. When they do not define what it means to be Republican, candidates start defining it for themselves. This appears to be the case with these senators.

Why do I keep hearing in my head, “ When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, …” The aristocracy lives, it’s entrenched, and it is the antithesis of how the Founders intended the government to be conducted. Ronna McDaniel and Mitch McConnell are traitors to the party. They certainly are allowed their views but they no longer serve the best interests of the country and we the people. There is going to be a split eventually because just as our forefathers shook off the chains of tyranny, we cannot go on this way unrepresented and betrayed. What is it going to take to wake up Republicans who keep voting for these prissy charlatans? Will they wait until it is too late? If we have learned anything from this illegitimate cabal running the show now, it is that our Republic is fragile especially when self-serving traitors are in power. I cannot compute the devastation that has been done to the Republic by this entitled class of politicians on both sides of the aisle. If the rest of the Republican Senators cannot muster up the courage to denounce these fools, what good are they? Threatening a mass desertion should be met with the harshest criticism. What in the heck is wrong with this party? They would surrender to the most radical and lawless cabal of democrats in the history of the country out of pique! They disgust me as will other senators who do not come out and object to this betrayal. We must stand united but I fear division is their strategy going forward. It is another knife in the back to President Trump. God forgive me, but I loathe these traitors.

People in their respective states need to vote them out. Instead of just filling in a name they are familiar with they need to take the time and find out just how they have voted and how it affects them,and the rest of the country, it's time to get rid of the rhinos, ALL of them, who vote more often than not with the Dems. They are traitors to the party as well as the people who trusted them with their vote.

Mitch was part of the cabal who worked to get Tucker Carlson fired. I was listening the evening Tucker called out "elected officials living in royal splendor on Chinese dollars." It wasn't long after that Tucker was gone. There were many instances that doomed Tucker, but I believe this was one of the biggies. I work hard not to hate anyone, but I think Mitch deserves my enmity in spades. I just wish more Kentuckians would agree and take him out. After all, MItch how much money do you need?

The GOP senators cited in this article stand with Biden’s Ukraine policy and have no comment about democrats abuse of power, notably, the persecution of President Trump. McConnell, Cornyn, Murkowski and many other GOP senators voted for gun control last year. Soon after that vote, Cornyn was booed off the stage at the 2022 Texas State Republican Convention —- his comment, "I've never given in to mobs and I'm not starting today." Correction senator, you joined the mob on gun control. And the final insult —- the Republican Senate leadership’s silence on illegal immigration and support for H1B visas. There is nothing to like about Cornyn, McConnell, Thune, Murkowski, Romney et al.

It is becoming clear that the Ideals and Philosophy of Republicanism and certainly those of Conservatism have never been a truly core element of the Republican Party. Yes, we have had a few individuals who truly believe in those principles but they have been singular exceptions and have been undermined consistently by the majority of those within the GOP at nearly all levels. No, most running for or in leadership positions within the Party only espouse the ideas of Republicanism to get votes because they know that is what the voters want But once elected those voters are kept at several arms length away from them (Why do you think they spend the majority of their time in DC and not their home state, except to run a campaign to get reelected). No, the values of Republicanism are solely within the electorate and are used as a lever to get votes. Once elected, the GOP quickly tosses those values aside.

Just heard that old dinosaur political commentator, Cal Thomas, on the morning show today on www.wmal.com say that we have to vote in 2024 and elect Republicans if we want to hold any Dem accountable. Bwahaaaaa!!! We had the WH, both houses of Congress for the first two years of Trunk and Republicans like Paul Ryan and McConnell blocked much of his agenda. I don't have much faith in Kevin McCarthy and while McConnell and his ilk are still in power - we are doomed no matter which Republican we elect in 2024.

Add Kansas' rotten Senator, Jerry Moran to the list, although he hides it a bit better. But, he's too often up for shoving a knife in our backs when the Uniparty needs him. Our other Senator, Roger Marshall, seems to be the real deal, at least so far.

Murkowski is no better than lizzie chenny...they sold US out and now WE must figure out how to stop them....Sarah Palin was a sacrificial lamb...she and her family suffered all the indignities that DC could foist on her...but...WE are not through yet...so don't give up hope...mc/connell is up for re/election in 2024....so let's watch the swamp work their cheating to see how he'll do at the polls....

The RNC and friends of free and safe elections everywhere need to kill this "ranked choice" voting as quickly as possible. It's how Murkowski won this time and how Alaska elected a Democrat to the House. Ranked choice voting disenfranchises those who do not wish to make "second choices," and therefore violate the one-man (person, whatever), one-vote constitutional provisions. Think of it this way. I vote for Candidate Jones, but i don't think that any of the other candidates - Smith, Washington, or Franklin - deserve my vote. Jones and Smith finish 1 and 2. Then the folks who voted for Washington or Franklin basically get a second or third vote if they selected Jones or Smith. But I (as well as the Smith voters) don't get second bite of the apple. And since our Democrat friends are so good at running multiple candidates in these races, we get our Democrat friends voting for Smith, Washington, and Franklin, while we wouldn't vote for those three folks in a race for city dog catcher, much less Senator or Representative. Our local school board has an interesting way of electing its members. If there are four positions open, I have four votes to cast. I can vote for one person four times, four people one each, or any combination. That allows me to use all my votes on the candidate I want to win. Maybe if that type of system is instituted, I can go with that.

Most times the GOP gets the opposing party's leadership cornered and in a head lock, and Mitch seems to swoop in at the last minute to concede or at least to compromise. He has an exceptional talent for pulling defeat from the jaws of victory.

I have long said that the Senate is a club: "A Fraternity (with a few Sorority 'Little Sisters' ) and that they hate outsiders: They consider themselves among the world's most elite people, Their least preferred Frat Bro, they still prefer to their most beloved outsider. And even after leaving the Senate, whether retired, moved on to be President or Vice President, or to be a 'Captain of Industry', that Frat Bro or Little Sister is still preferred to any outsider, and gets the same considerations as a current member. That is why the Senate treats Joe and Kamala with kid gloves. Why they will never be impeached, or even seriously challenged with a veto override. That is why you should NEVER vote for a Senator for higher office. Or let one become a lobbyist.

I’m far from an expert on dementia, but it looks to my layman’s eye that the pace of President Biden’s decline is picking up. The needle on my schadenfreude meter jumped so hard to the right that it’s stuck there in red zone, where my soul is endangered by excessive pleasure in the suffering of another. Yesterday’s blog post on the need to start pressuring Biden’s cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment drew a lot of readers and commenters, with much concern expressed about what happens next. Because the 25th has never been invoked, there is some confusion about whether or not a new vice president would need to be appointed. (snip) the Vice President remains in office as VP and only becomes “Acting President.” While all the “duties and powers” (Section 4) of the presidency devolve upon the Acting President, there is no vacancy in the office of Vice President. So, there is no need or ability to appoint a new Vice President.

The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) has reported fuel contamination could impact residents who are evacuating from Florida’s coast. FDACS reported fuel contamination has occurred at dozens of gas stations that were serviced by the Port of Tampa.
