A former Air Force intelligence officer has been sentenced to three years in prison after prosecutors said he illegally kept hundreds of highly classified documents at his Florida home.
Robert L. Birchum, 55, was sentenced on Thursday in Tampa federal court, after pleading guilty to one felony count of unlawfully possessing and retaining classified documents relating to the national defense of the United States. According to the plea agreement unsealed in February, Birchum served as an Air Force officer from May 1986 to July 2018, when he retired at the rank of lieutenant colonel after holding a variety of high-level roles, including chief of combat intelligence for

On Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Strive Asset Management Co-Founder and former Anheuser-Busch executive Anson Frericks said that asset managers like BlackRock, State Street, and Vanguard impose things like ESG and DEI onto companies because the asset firms are pressured into doing so by government officials. Frericks said, “You take a look at BlackRock, State Street, Vanguard, they manage $20 trillion worth of capital, but it’s not their own money. This is the money that everyday citizens, firefighters, police officers, doctors, who generally have their money either [in] 401ks or, in a lot of cases, large pension funds, large pension funds

Last June, the Daily Wire debuted Matt Walsh’s What Is A Woman? Throughout the movie, Walsh politely asks both conservatives and leftists, especially leftists with medical degrees, “What is a woman?” The answers from the left are astonishing and revealing. Leftists boycotted the movie but, now, thanks to a really stupid move by leftists formerly employed at Twitter (who tried to block a 24-hour free window for the movie), the Streisand effect has sent the movie’s viewership into the stratosphere.
I won’t re-review What Is A Woman?, which I wrote about a year ago. The short version is that the movie is superb. Today, as the battle over

WASHINGTON — With just two days to spare, President Joe Biden signed legislation on Saturday that lifts the nation’s debt ceiling, averting an unprecedented default on the federal government’s debt.
It was a decidedly low-key denouement to a monthslong drama that unnerved financial markets at home and abroad and caused anxious retirees and social service organizations to make contingency plans in case the country was unable to pay all its bills.
Instead of holding a public ceremony with lawmakers from both parties — showcasing the bipartisanship that Biden had cited in an Oval Office address on Friday evening

With his latest big win secured, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is moving into rare space.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich just declared, “Speaker McCarthy has already begun an historic speakership.” Today, Rasmussen Reports put McCarthy on the throne of public approval. He now has a 50% favorable rating, higher than former Speaker Nancy Pelosi reached in her second stint in the top job, according to a YouGov polling timeline for her. And many have declared her one of the greatest House speakers.
McCarthy, who had to fight through over a dozen ballots to win the top House job, has reached his new high on the success of

The official U.S. Navy Instagram and Twitter accounts have seemingly removed posts that celebrated the commencement of “Pride Month.” On Thursday, the first day of June “Pride Month,” the Navy’s social media accounts featured a graphic displaying military vessels and a fighter jet leaving a trail behind in the rainbow colors of the LGBTQ flag, but by Friday morning, the image had disappeared. This action is part of the Pentagon’s recent efforts to steer clear of cultural controversies, as top Defense officials recently moved to prohibit drag performances on all military installations. This week, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley intervened

BLUFFTON, S.C. —
Just one week after announcing his run for president, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis kicked off his South Carolina campaign trail Friday in Beaufort County.
Hundreds of people, and a handful of protesters, showed up to Okatie Ale House in Bluffton, ready to greet the latest Republican candidate to join the 2024 race.
“I’m still undecided. There are a lot of good people running on the Republican field, I think you probably get a better feel for the person in person,” said Sun City resident Faye Shullz. During his hourlong speech, the Florida governor tackled

The Atlantic published a lengthy story today offering a behind the scenes view of what has been happening at CNN since Chris Licht took over as CEO, replacing disgraces former CEO Jeff Zucker. If you’ve paid any attention to the media lately you’re probably already aware of some of the issues and controversies CNN has been dealing with, most recently the left-wing backlash over their town hall event with Donald Trump. And before that there was the firing of Don Lemon after several awkward on-air moments.
It turns out that Tim Alberta had been meeting with Chris Licht for a profile while all of this was happening

Florida governor and 2024 presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis (R) shouted down a protester who interrupted his speech during a campaign stop in South Carolina Friday.
“Unfortunately, there’s bad stuff that’s getting into the schools. There’s pornography that’s getting into schools. So the parents have had to blow the whistle in Florida,” he said during the speech in Lexington as a protester began to interrupt, talking back to the governor.
“They’ve had to, they’ve had t0 — yeah. Well, thank you. Thank you,” DeSantis said as the crowd booed the protester.
DeSantis then looked in the protester’s direction and spoke to the individual directly.

DES MOINES, Iowa —
Former President Donald Trump returned to Iowa this week for a campaign swing focused on rallying his base. Thursday included a series of grassroots-style stops where the former president shook hands, took questions from the crowd and engaged in the retail politics Iowa is known for.
During a campaign event in Grimes, Trump told KCCI Chief Political Reporter Amanda Rooker he has "total support" from Iowa faith leaders. The former president met with dozens of local pastors for a private lunch Thursday afternoon. "They were very thankful for what I've done with Roe v. Wade, obviously, and give me total support. We have a real love fest

Last week I noticed a tweet that caught my attention because it announced the support of a wealthy Texan for Ron DeSantis. It said that Joe Lonsdale, a venture capitalist & one of the founders of Palantir, is endorsing DeSantis. He has “tons of connections across tech + politics.” DeSantis is coming to Texas next week for a three-day fundraising trip, his first since declaring his candidacy. He will do well. Nikki Haley is also coming to Texas next week for the same reason.
Some of Texas’ biggest Republican donors are getting behind Ron DeSantis as he plans his first fundraising trip to Texas as a presidential candidate.

Elon Musk has always been very clear about the danger of the “woke mind virus.” He said, “The woke mind virus has thoroughly penetrated entertainment and is pushing civilization towards suicide. There needs to be a counter-narrative.” He also repeated how he saw it in apocalyptic terms during an interview with Bill Maher in April and stressed the importance of fighting against it.
That’s why the controversy over Twitter’s throttling of the Daily Wire film “What is a Woman?” because of “misgendering” was so inconsistent with his prior statements on the matter.
“This was a mistake by many people at Twitter,”
