California's reparations task force voted on Saturday in favor of a reparations program, the first of its kind in the United States.
The committee of nine members voted to give final approval a plan with detailed explanations for how restitution should be made to victims of systemic racism, housing discrimination, mass incarceration, and health care inequities. The plan now goes to state legislature for approval. If passed, it could mean hundreds of billions of dollars in payments to black residents of the Golden State.

FTA: "with descendants eligible for the payments." Anyone who has had to divide up grandma's estate knows this could be a nightmare. CA doesn't have the money and the rest of the nation should NOT come to their fiscal rescue. Fine, you'll get $1.2m but how will you collect from a bankrupt state?

My suggestion is the Task Force go to CVS and get themselves a giant tube of REPARATION-H (tm) and inject it, well, you know where. It’s great for dealing with certain, you know, irritated and inflamed nether parts. No, no charge for the advice. I feel it’s my civic duty.

The implementation of this boondoggle should be hilarious to watch. Limitations and residency requirements. (Wait! It's too difficult for black would be voters to aquire an ID card, but proving a lifetime of residency will be a snap).
I look forward to watching several things happen.
1. The CA economy imploding.
2. The exodus of tax paying citizens and the influx of more moochers.
3. The unrest because "it ain't enough" and "what do you mean, im not eligible?"
4. The additional disruption of labor markets as the soon to be rich crowd decides "working is to hard".
5. The sudden realization that 1.2 million doesn't go very far in California.
Please, please, please do this!!!! Well, not before I buy stock in Orville Redenbacher.

Where's Gloria Allred? All women should sue the federal government because we couldn't vote until 100 years ago and that's unfair now. {{{ WAH! }}} Give us money. Now. For past injustices.

Point well made #7. Remember after the farce of Pigford, for Black farmers denied loans, there was a much quieter payout for Hispanic farmers in the Me-Too aftermath. But watch - Cal reparations will most certainly bleed all over the rest of the states in some measure. And as long as free monies are being handed out - er'body gon want some!

They must believe that the Feds have the money to bail them out after they tank. Hate to say this but the Fed is tanking too. All blacks should move there and file a suit for discrimination: Why do you have to have lived there to be compensated?

OK, I wonder if this insane idea mentions what percentage of black will count? What heritage counts, African only? What about the Chinese, the Mexican, the Central American, etc? Why would a state that was never a slave state and a citizen living in CA who has never owned or approved of slavery be held responsible to pay reparations to people who were never slaves? Every idea coming from a Democrat of today is wrong, stupid, or batchit crazy.

#3, grandma's descendents may be able to prove up their lineage, but imagine how many claims will be made to claim grandpa's and how tough that might be to prove up. DNA testing kits will be short supply. Men who were not wanted around the house will suddenly become long lost relatives.

As if Commiefornia wasn't going bankrupt fast enough from all of the Covid fraud and illegal immigration costs, now they're going to dig through the bottom of the coffers for this. We need to shut down the interstate before the next mass exodus.

They are demanding 200 million per black person now.
They are discussing a payment system.
What are they going to do? Tack it on to their welfare checks?
Probably only the blacks that are on welfare.
Growing up, my family was on welfare.
Mom would tell me stories of how some of the case workers would behave.
Black case workers did not like it when they saw a white person collecting welfare.
Guess even back then, blacks thought welfare should be black-only.
No racism there (/s).
In the end my parents took their chances and got off welfare.
They found the welfare program to be demeaning and humiliating.
We survived.

This is sheer lunacy. Anybody here able to trace their lineage back 158 YEARS and
PROVE IT ?? Me neither. I'm sorry but 'Ancestry' alone isn't going to cut it in a courtroom !
FAR too many lost, destroyed, never existed in the first place, records would be
required. Birth records along with other 'legal' documents simply were NOT KEPT
150 years ago like they are now where we have reached a point where, if you
pass gas during your morning constitutional it will be recorded on a **** computer
SOMEWHERE if not MULTIPLE computers in various 'some wheres' !!.
If this abomination gets passed in ANY form, 'stock up' on KY or something because you're
going to need it. Then the rest of the tax payers in this country are going to need
the same thing when Cal starts crying poor mouth and demanding that the Federal
Gov't step in and pay the bill with OUR TAX MONEY !!
Now, what are you going to do when THAT happens ???
Where do you think and more importantly, HOW do YOU think this lunacy is going to end ??

So, take money from people who were never slave owners and give it to people who were never slaves - in a state that NEVER had slavery.
Yep, that makes a lot of sense.
NOT!
Pure Commi-fornia insanity, that special kind that only happens in that state.
