Finland joins NATO in major blow to Russia
over Ukraine war

BRUSSELS — Finland joined the NATO military alliance Tuesday, dealing a major blow to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a historic realignment of Europe’s post-Cold War security landscape triggered by Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine. The Nordic country’s membership doubles Russia’s border with the world’s biggest security alliance. Finland had adopted neutrality after its defeat by the Soviets in World War II, but its leaders signaled they wanted to join NATO just months after Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine sent a shiver of fear through its neighbors. In praising Finland’s membership, U.S. President Joe Biden noted it came on the 74th anniversary of the signing of NATO’s founding treaty on April 4, 1949.

When does the US send in its first troops to garrison Fort Biden? The Leader of the Free World takes on another Euro freeloader grabbing US defense shirttails. Finland spends less than two percent of its GDP on defense, and the new "conservative" government is looking to cut expenses. Who makes up the difference? Look in a mirror.

Just make sure that you use the proper pronouns, Finland, and contribute only DEI military personnel to your noble cause. Whoever is pulling the global strings on this conflict doesn’t care about you or your people. A very stupid move.

This is far bigger deal than you may think, when you consider they have an 800 mile border with Russia that they now need to be concerned about and that the Fins have required military training of it's citizens.

OK, Putin whines about being "surrounded by NATO".....when 6% of Russia's border touches a NATO country. And NOW, after Finland has joined NATO, the distance of Russian border that touches a NATO country has DOUBLED. Putin the Great, just really making things so much better for Russia. /s off

Back in 2008, Don Lemon was co-anchoring CNN’s “Live From” weekday show with Kyra Phillips, a gig that he landed after he arrived at the network two years prior from local news in Chicago. For months, tensions between the pair kept mounting. On more than one occasion, a “Live From” producer and a newsroom supervisor had to pull Lemon off the air during a commercial break because of the anchor’s provocative antics, not unlike his recent declaration that the 51-year-old Nikki Haley isn’t a viable presidential candidate because she “isn’t in her prime.” Amid the charged atmosphere, sources say Lemon disrespected colleague Nancy Grace

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse released its second official trailer for the release of the movie in June. This trailer featured a scene in a bedroom with a sign that read “PROTECT TRANS KIDS.” Not only is Spider-Man a comic book character that specializes in children's merchandise but this particular Spider-Man film is animated. Check out this screenshot to see the flag from the trailer. As the film isn’t out yet, there’s no telling how much of a role, if any, the flag or transgender ideologies will play in the film but the fact that it’s even there in the first place shows the intent

If you read through the conservative internet today, you’ll see myriad articles and videos pointing out that Alvin Bragg’s Statement of Facts and Indictment against Donald Trump are utterly baseless. In a decent system, they would be tossed out of court immediately. However, I’m here to tell you that this is not how things work in progressive/leftist judicial systems. They like going through the motions, but the system always works toward a single leftist end, law and rules be damned. As I said, lots of lawyers have pointed out that Alvin Bragg’s indictment is so flawed that it should be thrown out on an immediate motion to dismiss.

Twitter has made it official, National Public Radio (NPR) is now classified as a "US state-affiliated media" outlet on the platform. It’s a label that has traditionally applied to state-run media outlets in foreign autocracies, like Russia’s RT and China’s Xinhua. Twitter CEO Elon Musk shared the company’s guidance on state-affiliated media Wednesday. "State-affiliated media is defined as outlets where the state exercises control over editorial content through financial resources, direct or indirect political pressures, and/or control over production and distribution," the Twitter policy read. "Seems accurate," Musk wrote, referring to NPR's new title.

Marvel Entertainment’s former chairman Isaac “Ike” Perlmutter said Wednesday he will hold on to his Disney shares, a week after reports of his termination from the role. Reuters reported last Wednesday that Disney had laid off the 80-year-old Perlmutter, Disney’s largest individual shareholder, as part of a cost-cutting campaign. Perlmutter, however, told the Wall Street Journal that he was fired for pushing Disney too aggressively to cut costs and running afoul of the creative executives whom newly returned CEO Robert Iger wanted to empower. Disney did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment. News of Perlmutter’s termination had come after he supported activist shareholder Nelson Peltz’s unsuccessful bid

Mike Pence will not appeal a federal court ruling ordering him to testify in a special counsel probe into efforts by Donald Trump and his allies to subvert the 2020 election, a spokesman for the former vice president said Wednesday, teeing up a historic moment in both the special counsel's investigation and for the presidency. Pence is poised to recount for the first time under oath his direct conversations with Trump leading up to January 6, 2021, when Trump pressured him unsuccessfully to block the 2020 election's result and may have been acting corruptly, according to sources who have explained the judge's ruling.

Gov. Ned Lamont is back from the men's college basketball Final Four and basking in UConn's resounding victory — but apparently wasn't the biggest fan of the city that hosted the event. Asked Wednesday on WPLR's Chaz & AJ in the Morning to describe the scene after UConn's win over San Diego State, Lamont began with a comment on the city of Houston. "You walk around downtown Houston, which is butt ugly, not much there..." the governor began, before the highly amused hosts cut him off. The collapse of freedom in the Western world proceeds apace. Misinformation boards. Government backdoors into social media companies. Bogus “fact checks” that promote outright falsehoods. And now an arrest for being mean to Emmanuel Macron on Facebook. An actual arrest for calling him “filth.” You are likely aware of the raging protests in France over pension reforms. As much as I hate to admit it, I am with Macron on this issue. Raising the retirement age from 62 to 64 is hardly draconian given the increase in lifespans and the fiscal crises all pension programs face. The protests have been “fiery but mostly peaceful,” as they say.

The speech given by former US President Donald Trump is one that is likely to generate mixed reactions. In the speech, Trump talked about a number of issues, including the many attacks against him and his administration, the state of the economy, and the potential for a nuclear war. Trump also touched on the raid on Mar-a-Lago, the Presidential Records Act, and the Espionage Act of 1917. In a deft move, the former president used the indictment to further drive home the point that the left has been using the government to attack him politically. He accuses them of spying on his campaign, launching fraudulent investigations, and attempting to impeach

You can read Alvin Bragg’s indictment of Donald Trump and a supporting statement of facts here. The indictment is what we expected. It all has to do with paying $130,000 to Stormy Daniels for a non-disclosure agreement, which was legal. The payment was made by “Lawyer A,” Michael Cohen. Trump reimbursed Cohen using Trump’s own money, which was legal. The “34 counts” arise out of the fact that by agreement, Cohen got reimbursed by sending monthly invoices to Trump or his revocable trust. So for each monthly bill from Cohen, we get three counts of falsifying documents: one for the invoice, one for the ledger entry,

My introduction to San Francisco came in the late 1970s, when I spent a lot of time there as a young lawyer. For a Midwestern guy, the San Francisco of that era was a revelation: great restaurants, famous hotels on Nob Hill, fog drifting in off the Bay. But today’s San Francisco is, sadly, something else. The San Francisco Chronicle has a long, long article about the city’s demise: “Downtown S.F. on the brink: It’s worse than it looks.” And it looks really bad. The numbers are grim: "Don’t be fooled. The downtown area, the city’s primary economic driver, is teetering on the edge, facing challenges greater than

Now that we’ve seen what District Attorney Alvin Bragg has, the old Peggy Lee song comes to mind. Is that all there is? Yes, that’s all there is. The charges against Donald Trump are almost exactly as predicted. They are weak and, most important, political. As such, they are shockingly-blatant punishment for Trump daring to become president. In this sordid case, the letters D.A. stand for Democrat Attorney. The charges are the crime. Shame on Bragg for abusing his authority and turning his office into a partisan outpost.
