A federal appeals judge appointed by Donald Trump has demanded an apology from Stanford Law School after he was invited to speak, only to be berated by a pious dean while woke students shouted abuse at him.
Judge Kyle Duncan, from the fifth circuit of appeals, was ambushed by associate dean of equity, diversity and inclusion Tirien Steinbach during a discussion Thursday night. But she then launched into an impassioned six minute speech - which she had written down - condemning his life's work.
Steinbach - a former ACLU lawyer who previously defended free speech - initially claimed Duncan had a right to express his views.

Isn't it about time to abandon publicly funded schools and colleges and start your own? You cannot live with these people. It is not possible.

Nothing will change till Stanford alums withhold financial support. It is NOT state funded. Of course it was two Stanford faculty members who raised and helped fund Bankman-Fried's criminality to support mostly leftist pols with stolen money.....

Did the dean happen to say exactly how the judge harmed her little snowflakes?

These people are no longer human. They are evil. They are Nasgul. I don’t understand why the judge didn’t just walk out.

The behavior of the "dean of equity, diversity and inclusion" toward this judge defies "equity, diversity and inclusion." I would invite her to explain how she is the arbiter of what deserves diversity and inclusion and what does not deserve the same.
The dean should be fired for incompetence in fulfilling her assigned duties and role.

#12 is on the mark -- she needs to be fired. When these blatant circus events occur, the university will often say "this does not meet out standards" and then do nothing about it. Message: Woke deans can act with impunity, knowing nothing will happen to them. It's just like the thugs in the streets -- they rob and assault because they know they can.
The only hope for the country is that the woke fad fades. If not, with kids like these making their way to the Supreme Court, we are finished.

We older ones wondered at the time what would happen when the hippies reached maturity. We are now reaping the whirlwind, as government is filled with these old worn-out "flower children." Now look at the present generation and imagine 50 years down the road when they "get into power."

I’m old enough to remember when Stanford was a great university— the alternative to UC Berkeley, not its weaker sister.

Steinbach was right about one thing when she repeated a claim the ACLU used to support:
The remedy for speech you don't like is more speech.
By her actions, including encouraging disgruntled students to walk out of a meeting organized by conservative students (after her disruptive speech) Steinbach made clear that free speech and a free exchange of ideas are not essential elements of "equity and inclusion" mandates.

Since my granddaughter (High School IQ 135) went to college, I've decided there is nothing stupider, more naive, and more malleable than a college kid. Including her.

If I were a judge, I wouldn't hire any graduate from Stanford Law as a clerk. They have the right to be wokesters, but they don't have the right to get a clerkship added to their CVs.

The students should be tossed out of the college, and the dean should be fired. About the first thing taught in law school should be, "Don't toy with the judge." They haven't learned that, and if they become lawyers, they'll continue toying with judges, to the detriment of their clients.

Dean of Equity in Stanford Law School?
Does that mean that all the Law School graduates will be equally mediocre? (I understand that "equity" means that all participants end up with the same outcome after any endeavor.) Can't aim for excellence. That could mean that some students might perform better than others. Can't have that.

Dean of Equity - another made up touchy-feely job conjured up to display a support for wokeness. Likely, her degree has the word Studies in it.
