In one of their final acts in power, House Democrats secretly passed through a rule change that will see lawmakers in the lower chamber get a $34,000 pay raise.
The new rule, proposed by Democrats on the House Administration Committee, allows House members to be reimbursed for the cost of lodging, food and travel while on official business in Washington DC.
It was tucked into the House's internal rules, rather than in annual spending bills, and therefore was not debated on the House floor, according to the New York Times.

Still doesn't even come close to what they make from bribes from "donors" and insider trading.

"Republicans slam Democrats for 'clandestine' move"
Of course they do.
But, they're going to keep the money, right?
They're not going to change it back, are they?
They could if they really wanted to, you know...

So? Take it back - publically! Let everyone know, again, what kind of people Democrats are.

Only the government can vote themselves a raise that is paid for by those who had nothing to say about it.

Not surprised. The Dems are all about money and power for themselves at the cost of the taxpayers.

we knew this was a done deal before the mid-terms so why is anyone getting agita about it? the demcommies are responsible for the outrageous salaries these members of the house and the senate because if they are all rich they will have no concept of the rigors of life we, as the proletariat, face each day just to keep a roof over our heads and food on our tables, they are the party of the elite and / "but, but, but, but" we all know what happened to the elites in France in 1789 and may the decapitation of the demcommie party begin and the sooner the better

AOC says that they NEED to get paid more - otherwise, they'll be tempted to do insider trading.

Average american Income 2019 was LESS than the Raise they just gave themselves...on top of the $millions they already get to run their offices/staff, and the $175k salary.
Worse still...they KNEW what the job paid when they raised $10's of $Millions to run for it and get elected.
They already are "Top 1%, of Americas Richest"...but plead poverty.

They make $174,000.00/yr & get medical insurance w/premium subsidies of 72%; depending on the member's age and length of service, he or she could also receive a lifetime pension of 80 percent of his or her salary — amounting to $139,200 a year, and they just got what amounts to a $34,000/yr bump.
Yet they DO NOTHING except DESTROY EVERYTHING THEY TOUCH!!!

We can all thank Minority Mitch bending over to pass the Omnibus spending bill and cutting the new GOP House Majority off at the knees. Don't blame democrats, that is who they are. They needed help from "across the aisle" to make this happen.
