Like many high-school seniors at this time of year, Natalie Biden made a college visit on Friday as she weighs where to study. Unlike most seniors, however, she brought the president of the United States with her. After delivering a speech on the economy in Maryland, President Joe Biden flew to Philadelphia to join his granddaughter for a tour of the University of Pennsylvania. They spent about two hours meeting officials and seeing facilities, before visiting the college bookstore where Biden posed for selfies and could even be seen talking on wellwisher's phone. They were joined for the tour by Penn President Elizabeth Magill, Sophia Rosenfield, Professor of History -

Can't quite remember, all the Biden grandchildren seem to run together... but wasn't she the one that spent some private 'quality' time with her Uncle Hunter (in various stages of dishabille) until even her mother, his former paramour, had to step in? If I'm wrong, please correct my mis-remembering. I certainly don't want to "mess* with the Bidens."

How much CA$H did the Taxpayers have the privilege of forking over for this 'side trip'? How much of that Eeevil Carbon Dioxide was produced by Air Force One, the accompanying planes, the Beastmobile, and the rest of the Presidential Procession of Eeevil SUV's?

This kind of thing is how Biden’s handlers make him happy. They set him up on these little very friendly excursions and he gets to be the big man on campus which feeds his massive ego. They allow no one but friendlies to get near him. He will smile and glad hand anyone but they keep him away from individuals who may have a real comment or question. Joe likes being the big guy. He could not withstand a hostile crowd, that would trigger him and they know he would lose his temper. One day, he is going to go off and they are not going to be able to stop him. Then it’s clean up on Aisle 5 for his handlers. I can only imagine his day to day interaction with his staff. His anger, mercurial temperament, and arrogance on his best day makes him totally unqualified to hold the position he does. He is a pathetic joke and the world knows it.

Josef Stolen (h/t Ida Lou) was classically educated, triple majoring in Greek, Latin, and pugilistics after being appointed to the Naval Academy in Annapolis, in place of Roger Staubach, who never went there, and never played QB. (You know who did?) After being graduated with high honors, delivering the valedictory, and filling a hall wall with degrees, Josef drove an 18-wheel semi from coast to coast, Manhattan to Long Beach, then turned around and chugged back to his starting place in one magnificent go, not even stopping to urinate or take on fuel, full of West Coast turnarounds that he got from Dr. Hunter. And it all led to UPenn paying him most of a million because they were so awe stricken by him.

William Shatner said seeing Earth from space aboard Jeff Bezo's Blue Origin rocket was a profoundly sorrowful experience, but one which inspired him to cherish the beauty of our planet. In an excerpt from his new memoir, Boldly Go: Reflections on a Life of Awe and Wonder, revealed that the 91-year-old Star Trek star was struck with one of the 'strongest feelings of grief' he had ever experienced. Shatner wrote that rather than being filled with awe, as he expected to be, the sight of Earth's warm blue glow surrounded by the cold black of space left him feeling like he was at 'a funeral.'

The reliably left-wing Los Angeles Times has published an unusually candid analysis: that California’s policymakers, given ample warnings about the state’s vulnerability to high gas prices, have failed to do anything to address the basic problems that cause them. The Times recounted how the state created special committees in the 1990s, and again in the last decade, to deal with the challenges created by California’s “green” regulations and its aggressive environmental rules on the one hand, and market realities on the other. The Times noted Friday: California officials have had repeated warnings over the last two decades that the state’s unique blend of gasoline is susceptible to supply shortages
