TEXAS – (Office of the Governor) – Governor Greg Abbott today issued an executive order authorizing and empowering the Texas National Guard and the Texas Department of Public Safety to apprehend illegal immigrants who illegally cross the border between ports of entry and return them to the border. The Biden Administration’s decision to end Title 42 expulsions and the Remain-in-Mexico policy has led to historic levels of illegal crossings, with 5,000 migrants being apprehended over the July 4th weekend, creating a border crisis that has overrun communities along the border and across Texas.

We also need a "shoot to kill" order for human smugglers and drug runners.

I am in total agreement with Northcross. Sending these invaders back across the border only delays their eventual entry. Armed forces along our border, consisting of those who WILL fire on cue, is now our only hope of averting the decimation. Biden and his ilk are determined to destroy us all.

BS! Declare an invasion and let the State of Texas deal with it appropriately!
This is pure stagecraft. They will drive them back to border and let them go to cross over again!

Better late than never but..... this should have been done a LONG time ago. Mitch "MultiUseLess" McConnell is probably getting ready to write another stern letter with strong adverbs/adjectives. The Paper Tiger.

This guy makes a lot of noise from time to time, but not much changes. I remember this stunt from over a year ago.
June 1, 2021, Governor Abbott Issues Disaster Declaration In Response To Border Crisis In Texas.
"President Biden's open-border policies have paved the way for dangerous gangs and cartels, human traffickers, and deadly drugs like fentanyl to pour into our communities," said Governor Abbott. "Meanwhile, landowners along the border are seeing their property damaged and vandalized on a daily basis while the Biden Administration does nothing to protect them. Texas continues to step up to confront the border crisis in the federal government's absence, but more must be done. By declaring a state of disaster in these counties, Texas will have more resources and strategies at our disposal to protect landowners and enforce all federal and state laws to combat criminal activities stemming from the border crisis. Working together with local law enforcement, the state will continue to take robust and meaningful action to keep our communities safe.”

I'm thinking #9 may be right that Abbott seems to make some splashes, but doesn't seem to want to follow through, unlike Trump or DeSantis.

Exactly what does “return them to the border” mean? It would seem they will be released on the US side, perhaps with the expectation that the Border Patrol and INS will grab them for the usual Welcome to America treatment.

This latest PR stunt is even less impressive sounding than the previous one. Return them to the border, not across it? How about loading them on a boat and offloading them a few feet offshore of the southernmost point in Mexico? Bold action like that is what Old Hickory would have done, but Greg Abbott is not even close to the same caliber, which is why he's still the governor of Texas.

After Obiden showed their hands over a year ago, Texas and Arizona should have closed their borders with Mexico, commandeered the materials, and continued building President Trump's Wall. Halt the drugs and stop the invasion NOW.
Neither Obama, Biden, Hunter, Soros, or any other administration Marxicrats should be allowed out in public without being booed by American Patriots.
Find ways to prevent 2000 Mules from stealing the next elections as they obviously did in 2020.
Act NOW to Take Back America.

It's about time. Abbott is all talk and no action. His poll numbers must be tanking for him to do this.

Perhaps New Mexico and Mexifornia will not send them back to the border....
Some time ago the cost for a complete national border wall was given to be approximately $6 billion dollars, Texas has a "raining day fund" of over $10 billion dollars currently in the coffers, so Texas could have a wall for far less
Its obvious for EVERYONE to see that the NoBama/Vegetable regime will NEVER enforce the immigration laws already on the books.
Perhaps the Texas Legislature will put this as the #1 agenda item when the meet in January 2023 and build the wall in Texas all by itself to lessen the problem.

The immigration debacle illustrates an unpleasant truth. The Deep State Uniparty mauls the American People like Godzilla on PCP. Supposedly well-meaning 'leaders' like Abbott are like Jiminy Cricket. Full of smart ideas and hope, but in this fight, destined to wind up like a bug on the windshield

Post a sign every 50 ft along the border, explaining what will happen if you are apprehended north of the U.S./Mexico border. Your foot will be secured inside a 5 gallon bucket of wet cement, which will set up while you're being driven back south. You will be released just after it does.
If you have any questions, just keep them to yourself.
