A new political action committee has formed attempting to draft Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to run for president in 2024, and it is being run by a Republican consultant heavyweight who has been a veteran of campaigns involving former GOP Presidents Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump.
The Ready for Ron PAC is being led by two generations. Ed Rollins was the campaign chairman for Reagan’s 1984 landslide of 49 states and ran the pro-Trump Great America PAC for the 2020 election. Lilian Rodríguez-Baz, a newcomer to politics, is a Miami appellate attorney and conservative activist.

There is a large faction of Republicans and independent conservatives who support "Trump-ism" and would like to see him depart the scene as a candidate-in-waiting. Many believe it's time to move on from 2020 and institute the cause of "America First" and "Making America Great Again" without the spectre of PDT hovering. The Democrats (fronting for the UNIPARTY) did a fine job diverting energy from the main channel of PDT's efforts into his constant defense, and continue to press forward with policies that "had no chance" and are now in the top tier of the political queue. The election of PDT in '24 guarantees four more years of political hand-to-hand with no sustainable progress away from the current radicalism. Will it happen? The UNIPARTY paid a high price to get him gone in '20. They're not going to let that investment crash in '24.

Rolliins is anti-Trump and is roiling the waters to indirectly weaken Trump.
DeSantis should not fall for it and wait until 2028 when he will be a shoo-in and only fifty years old.

Yes, it is time to thank Trump and move on. DeSantis has all Trump's strengths with none of his weaknesses and baggage.

I am a huge Trump supporter, but this isn't about redeeming his stolen election. It's about bashing the Left in so they stop destroying the country ASAP. As the previous poster said, less baggage with DeSantis.

I would like for Trump to have another term and then DeSantis get elected for the next 8 years. DeSantis still has work to do in Florida but would be ready to roll when Trump finishes his last term.

This is divisive foolishness. Should be left up to Ron DeSantis. Ed Rollins is so yesterday. And it’s always all about him.

For justice to be restored President Trump should be elected to the position that was stolen from him in 2020. Is that possible? The hate for this remarkable man is intense and is impervious to the fact that our country was doing great under him.
My major concern with a Trump run in 2024 is that he continues to focus on the 2020 steal. Yes it happened. Yes it can never be allowed to reoccur. Yes it can be acknowledged in passing.
Time for Trump to articulate his vision to get this country back on track. I also want to see that he can curb some of his traits that turn voters off.
DeSantis, so far, has performed superbly. He is verbally more adroit than Trump, far clearer and puts partisan reporters in their place without the rancor we saw for four years.

Trauma for me. Desantis is my governor, and a great one. If he became POTUS, the country would benefit immensely. On the other hand, what would happen to Florida if we were to get a liberal replacement. Remember that Desantis won in a squeaker against Gillum, the man found in a Miami hotel room with a naked man found dead from an overdose.

Ron DeSantis, while serving as Governor, has pulled Florida back into the Conservative fold, despite the massive influx of illegals, New Yorkers etc. Until Ron has a successor picked out for the Governorship, I hope and pray he stays where he is.

It can only be a matter of seconds until one of the Three Faces shows up. Tick, tick, tick.
Meanwhile, while a few still thrash around about Trump’s age, their hero Ed Rollins is 79. Who knows whether he’ll be around - kinda overweight - for another presidential election.

These PAC's are unusual in that they are not ran or approved by Ron DeSantis, but by never Trumpers, in their latest effort to get Trump. Once you think there is no other angle to get Trump, the obnoxious and criminal begin another scheme.

We BETTER stay focused somewhat on the 2020 steal or not much else matters in the absence of sure thing continuing elections fraud. Ed Rollins supported Trump at beginning ONLY because he sort of had to. Then just like the other longtime Bush globalists, he turned on him when he saw Trump actually meant MAKE AMERICA GREAT.
Rollins is yesterday. We must pray Ron DeSantis does not make the same mistake President Trump did. Ron must not take his main counsel from the RNC, old guard Bushies. They hate MAGA and just as they purged the GOP of Reagan conservatism, they are trying to purge the party of Trump conservatism.

I don’t care what Rollins or anyone else says. I only know that we have to take back the presidency. Which candidate stands the better chance of doing that. I do worry a lot about the insane hatred the Dems and media have for Trump. If they can’t see how much better our country was under him, they never will. Can they cheat even more than they did the last time? It would be sweet to see him get his second term. Are more people swayed towards him this time? The election in November will tell us more. One thing for sure. We have two great candidates to choose from. The Dem Party has no one!

Think back to the 1980 Rep primary.
Reagan vs GHWB
They were contenders against each other and both bashed Carter- not each other.
Reagan came out the winner and selected GHWB for VP.
They each branded their names while they bashed Carter.
Then they joined forces.
