Texas Governor Gregg Abbott was booed and greeted with cries of demands for help as he arrived at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, with President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden to grieve the 19 children and two teachers shot dead in the massacre.Biden hugged the school's principal Mandy Gutierrez and touched photos of the slain children as he arrived on Sunday to mourn with the community ravaged by the worst elementary school mass shooting since the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting. He walked for several minutes along the school sign lined with flowers, candles and written tributes to read the names of the victims,

Everyone associated with government is playing politics with this.
Now is not the time. If they cannot conduct themselves properly, they should stay away.

NBC reports say the boos were actually people saying "Let's Go Brandon."

It's possible that the people complaining were complaining about Abbott, but other sources say that the parents weren't happy about Biden taking the spotlight instead of their families loss. I suppose any pol.s that showed up might have been boo'd.

The video of Abbott's arrival is pretty conclusive...he was booed with catcalls. Biden and company were nowhere in evidence. (It is usual protocol that the President arrives after the locals.) Abbott has his own set of problems - beginning with his being "misinformed" before he spoke in the immediate wake of the shootings. Had Beto not been a total fool, there may have been a very heavy price to pay. There may still be voter blowback, as the Dems demand a special session of the legislature to consider bills to "prevent" such from happening again. November isn't that far off.

I would say that little town is still so traumatized that they are booing all politicians who showed up there today. The people there know that politicians mostly just talk and when those politicizations talk that they are following a partisan political line.

I live in Texas. Even the extremely biased lie-beral media in Austin and San Antonio have reported that Abbott is doing a good job handling this whole situation, and that the families have been very appreciative of all that he has done for them so far.
If there were boos for Abbott, they were 100% guaranteed to have been from brain dead lie-beral supporters of Beto the faux Mexican planted there to give the lie-beral media something else to "mis-report" on!!!

Demonrats from San Antonio and Austin infiltrated to make a scene on behalf of Robert Francis O'Roarke, who embarrassed himself and his feckless campaign at the infamous press conference.

Why does Biden attend some cities where there have been tragedies but not all of them? He did not go to California where there was a mass shooting at a church. Does the president really need to go to these scenes? I can see visiting an area that had destruction from a hurricane as the government sends in aid and responders.

A very weak rino thing to do to show up with the fraudulent President and First Lady. With what this Biden operation has done to Texas, our Governor should be livid and unafraid to show it. I expect Governor Abbott to start asking for badges and resignations or those catcalls will indeed start following him.

Abbott is booed at ever opportunity by the same half-dozen or so frequent posters here on L.com. While Abbott may not be as strong of a governor as even George W Bush was, blaming a state governor - one of 50 - for duties that are not never under a governor's control, such as the president's responsibility for enforcing immigration laws, is very progressive-like. The "Take Care" clause in Article II of our Constitution, "Take care that the laws be faithfully executed," applies only to the president and it applies to all constitutionally valid acts of congress, regardless of a president's personal or political inclinations.

There is a polite disagreement between Texas-loving patriots about my Governor Abbott. There is nothing wrong with that.
