WASHINGTON — Still mourning a Texas mass shooting, Democrat Beto O'Rourke gave his long-shot campaign a jolt by imploring a national audience that it was finally time for real action to curb the proliferation of high-powered guns in his home state and across America. That was 2019, and the former congressman was running for president when he declared during a debate, “Hell yes, we’re gonna take your AR-15,” weeks after a gunman targeting Mexican immigrants killed 23 people at a Wal-Mart in O'Rourke's native El Paso. Last week, following the massacre of 19 elementary school students and two teachers by

But for Beat-it's trying to hijack a presser it might have. He only made himself look the fool.....which happens to be a good look for him.

The only shooting that will make a difference is Betito shooting off his mouth at the wrong time and place.

imagine that vacuous brained moron in the governor's chair in Texas? but commies have no consideration for anything except their political objective and o'rourke is a prime example, he's a bigger hand puppet than diapers, if that's at all possible

Trying to score political points over this tragedy will cost him dearly among those who still have conservative values among those who are coming to the Republican party in droves.
Only the wacko libs who live and die by politics see this as good.
He put the final nails in his gubernatorial race with his actions.

No problem folks. We keep the likes of Roberto O'Rourquez confined to Travis county (Austin) and a couple of others. They can run their mouths until the cows come home. Texas is RED.

Francis O'Rourke is an example of the dysfunctional DNC. No one with substance could possibly stand for their divisive self-serving policies. This guy is a light weight nobody that is a cute little jerk, a clown.

If Beto was a competent politician, he could've been correct in his assessment. Abbott has his problems, particularly the border, and now this shooting and his being stained by the apparent incompetence of the police and their spokespersons. Abbott got bitten by misinformation, and it illustrates why politicians should not engage tragedy quickly beyond expressing regrets and advising patience while the facts are collected. (At least give the police a chance to get their stories straight.) Many here will deny Abbott's vulnerabilities...and he will likely win in November, thanking the policitcal gods his opponent was Beto.

This election isn’t hard or confusing mr idiot Beto. Yup, we Republicans do not have the best or strongest leader in Gregg Abbott but if he were a quarter of the man he is, Texans would STILL vote for him over Beto. FACT. Governor Abbott is exceedingly blessed in his Democrat opponent!!

I live in Texas and am amazed to see so many Hispanics with beto stickers on their cars. Just beto - no o'rourke. Yes, they think he is one of them and could not pick him out of a line-up which is just another reason many should not be able to vote

When he ran against Cruz "Robert Francis" LOST Uvalde 60/40...just as Biden did. Them showing up there will not alter that fact...it was staged for other districts(and states) "consumption"
While the people in Uvalde are 85% "Hispanic", they are not "Mexicans", under 13% were born outside of the US, they are primarily Independent Texicans and have been since before the area north of the Rio Grande was sold to the Nortenos. Uvalde families have lived under all Six Texas Flags.

What do you expect Beto to say? What happened in Uvalde is not on the Governor of Texas, but is on the perpetrator who obviously was an anti social homicidal maniac, as who else would shoot his grandmother in the face? As usual the leftist Democrats like Beto always attempt to blame the wimpy Republicans for everything that goes wrong in the country and that’s what Beto is trying to do here.

Beto and the DNC did not waste time getting people into Uvalde to wave their signs for Biden and to boo Abbott. They also made sure to get them in fron of AP reporters and other media. What does a "professor" from San Antonio have to do with those murdered kids? Nothing. But he is a Beta supporter.

It is embarrassing to Texas the slop candidates we have had for governor, primary and the general election. Abbott is a weakling, and should have been replaced, but the alternatives were purposely allowed to be slop, so even Abbott was the hold your nose choice.

#29, the Republican Primary opponents to Governor Abbott you speak of got 12% and 8%.
The voters spoke loudly in favor of Abbott, and regardless of your opinion of him, well over 2/3 voted for him instead of one or your candidates. That primary race is over and the result is known.
The focus should now be to defeat Dems and to support local candidates and focus on getting Austin and DC candidates to listen to the grassroots who have had ENOUGH of being ignored.
