An Ohio man who said he was only 'following presidential orders' when he stormed the Capitol and stole a coat rack and a bottle of bourbon was quickly convicted Thursday of obstructing Congress from certifying Joe Biden's 2020 electoral victory. Dustin Byron Thompson, 38, was found guilty on all six counts against him, including theft of government property and disorderly or disruptive conduct in a restricted building or ground. The jury took less than three hours to deliberate. The FBI had found cell phone footage of Thompson inside the Senate parliamentarian's ransacked office yelling: 'Wooooo! 'Merica Hey! This is our house!'

If this guy had broken into a home and stolen a coat rack and a bottle of bourbon in New York or California, he would have never been prosecuted.
Had he been a democrat going into a republican controlled congress, he would be considered a hero.
The justice system is corrupt.

How can he much less anyone believe the lie that Trump gave presidential orders for anyone to steal and destroy property? He deserves prison time. There are people being held illegally in jail who did nothing but were there and thought it was ok to go inside when the capitol police waved them in, but they did not steal or break things.

Democrats needed a patsy and evidently found one. He is a liar also. No one has a right to steal, a concept that is unheard of when it comes to a certain segment of the population. He was wrong to steal and even worse, he lied about President Trump. However, this judge should have kept his political opinions off the bench. Democrats wanted a case like this one and got it. The ignorant guy was nothing more than a useful idiot. You steal you go to jail. You lie and you become a democrat stooge.

The biggest mistake the January Sixers made was to trod upon the Holy Ground occupied by our political princes and princesses. They should have just gone over to any business part of town and looted and burned down a couple of square blocks and pulled down a few statues. We all know there are no consequences for these actions.

Gee, an affirmative-action "jerge" doesn't like Trump or his supporters. Jump the way the organ grinder says!

no surprise here, Judge Walton is reliably leftist. Among other things, he presided over the Scooter Libby trial and ruled that Hillary had a "right to privacy" to avoid turning over incriminating Whitewater records. Check his biography on Wikipedia.

Thanks to this idiot who said, "Trump told him to do it" I hope his incarceration is a misery trip and for a long stretch. We don't need to be identified with cheap weasels like this. The judge sounds like a hack.

Theoretical question: If the FBI planted actors on Jan. 6, could they not also plant actors to go the distance, in order to paint the very picture of Trump supporters that is being painted by Thompson? Look at the photos. The Trump hat can be read by a helicopter, it’s that obvious, and more importantly, Trump supporters don’t talk like this guy about Trump. His words sound exactly like what the left thinks about Trump supporters. They are the words of a hive mind.
I don’t trust anything that the US government or the media tell me or are involved with.

Yeah, "real conservatives" would never act like this. Must be a plant!
Idiots I have no pity for. Those who were simply milling around the Capitol after being invited in by the police...that's something else. If crashing the doors and windows of the House Chamber while in session, and occupying offices, wasn't "obstruction", nothing is. And if stealing a cheap dime-a-dozen government hat rack and bottle of bourbon isn't stupid, nothing is.

This guy was wrong on two counts, he took property and he claimed he was following the President's orders. Trump did not order invasion of the Capital. He simply asked Americans to stand up for America. The Judge left the door open for a repeal of the verdict as he seemed to be against Trump politically and that affected his sentencing.
